Lenovo, Acer, and Asus showcase unique laptop designs at CES 2023

CES 2023 laptop showcase

Hailed as the global stage for innovation, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 became a platform for brands to exhibit the most exciting and even the strangest inventions in the tech industry. From January 5 to 8, Las Vegas became a place that gave us a glimpse of the world’s future as shaped by technology.

When it comes to laptops, Lenovo, Asus, and Acer all unveiled designs that would wow both techies and casuals. Laptops are already useful as portable versions of desktops. And yet, these brands proved that they can be more compelling with their new models.

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Fold

Think of this model as a blend of a laptop and a tablet. All laptops are foldable but instead of the usual screen + keyboard combination, Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Fold has two side-by-side displays that you can open like a book and set as a tablet.

Bending it at around 90° angle gives you a laptop whereas bending it at 180° gives you a tablet. It works with a separate keyboard that you can attach or not depending on your needs and wants. You can also pick whether you want your display to be in landscape or portrait mode.

The Futurum Group CEO Daniel Newman commended the laptop with his tweet that reads, My favorite #CES2023 device in the “I would actually use that category.”

Lenovo designed it with a 16.3” seamless folding laptop and an OLED touchscreen display. It is powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and an Intel Iris Xe Graphics. The model’s price starts at $2499.

Asus ProArt Studiobook 16 3D OLED

OLED monitors are the new talk of the town. Compared to its LED counterpart, it enhances your watching experience through better picture quality, more saturated colors, and smoother motion. Asus ProArt Studiobook 16 3D OLED elevates this with a display powered with Spatial Vision Technology. This means that you can view the panel in 3D without using a pair of special glasses.

This model caters especially to 3D design, gaming, videos, and presentations. It uses an eye-tracking system through its cameras to perform real-time rendering to make the image appear in 3D.

Acer Predator Helios 18

Building a gaming PC takes knowledge, skills, and time. Gaming laptops, on the other hand, offer almost the same level of speed and performance without the effort needed to manually build. Newer models, such as the Acer Predator Helios 18, pride themselves on their laptops that function possibly better than an average gaming desktop with its performance-enhancing features.

Acer has creators and gamers in mind when it engineered a line of laptops with superior cooling technology. What this model has compared to its predecessors in the Predator Helios line is its eye-catching design. In the gaming community, RGB is the ultimate setup. Acer incorporated it through the RGB keyboard paired with LED backlights. Additionally, you can personalize your experience with PredatorSense which lets you change the lighting, performance, and fan control.
