Kaulayaw: The Rich Aroma of Locally Produced Coffee

Coffee has become an integral part of many people’s daily lives. It is a beverage that is consumed by millions of people all around the world. Coffee is also a commodity that has a significant impact on the global economy. However, beyond its economic value, coffee is also a cultural symbol. It’s a source of livelihood and a product that represents the unique flavor and characteristics of different regions. In recent years, the Philippines has emerged as a promising coffee-producing country. The country’s unique geography, diverse climate, and fertile soil create the ideal conditions for growing high-quality coffee. One of the most promising coffee brands in the Philippines is Kaulayaw Coffee.

Kaulayaw is a deep Tagalog noun that means a pleasant and intimate companion.

The name reflects the company’s vision of creating a coffee brand. It is not only a beverage but also a companion for people’s daily lives.

Kaulayaw Coffee is a small business that is driven by the passion and eagerness to help the earth; our local farmers; and the energetic, and palpitating coffee enthusiasts. Those who are curious, seasoned, and everyone in between.

This local coffee shop is popularly known for serving Ethically Sourced and Locally Grown Coffee in their flagship branch in Antipolo.

Kaulayaw aspires to be the local brand of choice. To date, the coffee shop produces its coffee beans from Mountain Province, Bukidnon, Davao, Sarangani, General Santos City, South Cotabato, and Batangas. For the longest time, local farmers have struggled in keeping the industry alive. It’s about time that we support them by supporting small businesses that promote local goods like Kaulayaw Coffee.

Kaulayaw Coffee President AJ Cabarles said:

In the middle of the pandemic, we are blessed to be able to still operate and promote our local coffee. This inspires us to extend our help to the community around us. We are helping those who lost their jobs during the pandemic, the members of the 4Ps, and the students who stopped studying to be able to provide for their families. We let them be a part of our growing family. Now, they are not only helping themselves but they are also being inspired in helping our local farmers,” said.

Kaulayaw Coffee started as a pop-up booth on the 4th of July 2020. Today, its popularity is starting to surge as more famous personalities and TV programs feature the shop’s great selection of coffee blends, breathtaking views, and its mission for Filipino farmers.

This local coffee shop has also already branched out in several cities and towns in the country.
