Now on its 5th Year, Village Pipol Choice Awards (VPCA) unveils the official list of nominees for various categories, including Entertainment, as it move toward the most awaited night of recognizing personalities and crafts in many fields.

VPCA, the most followed and engaged award-giving body in the Philippines with accumulated 110 million plus engagements and reach last year, reveals the names and contents that were nominated by the Pipol and curated by industry experts.

Meanwhile, the Entertainment category includes TV, Movie, Radio and Music, and Social Media. As a response to Pipol’s demand to recognize the outstanding contents produced in 2023, VPCA divided the awards on series, actors and actresses according to time slot. At the same time, VPCA will be awarding its first-ever breakthrough star.

What to look forward for this year’s VPCA?

Being the most anticipated red carpet and wards night on May 2024, 5th VPCA partners with more reputable organizations. This year’s awards night is presented by Bingo Plus while continues to be produced by Village Pipol Magazine and Red Entertainment. Moreover, the award-giving body partnered with several media organizations in the country, namely PhilStar Global, Pilipino Mirror, Mindanao Daily, and Business Week.

Online voting period is expected to begin on March 5 this year and end on April 5, 2024, where the percentage of the votes will come from, adding to the percentage coming from panel of experts and the editorial team of the organization. Among the experts introduced was GizGuide, serving as the official tech expert partner of VPCA.

Meanwhile, this year’s Hall of Fame poses itself as one of the main highlights of the 5th VPCA, naming Gandang Kara, Felip of SB19, and Realme. Moreover, DonBelle is poised for the Hall of fame next year if they manage to claim the awards for Love Team and Fandom of the Year; the same with Pablo in the composer category. Well, turn the spotlight on for 5th VPCA Entertainment nominees!

Movie of the Year

Firefly

Deemed as one of the most outstanding films in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023, Zig Dulay’s Firefly continues to prove its excellence as Pipol pushes this film to be on the official nominees for the movie of the year. The story of its journey is definitely just beginning!

A Very Good Girl

This film secured a spot in Pipol’s hearts for serving our big screens with Dolly De Leon and Kathryn Bernardo in one film! I mean, these two brilliant actresses, giving life to the characters and plot of the film is an ultimate slay! Getting them on the list of nominees is the Pipol’s way of saying “They mothered!”

Rewind

Who else would not be thrilled for the DongYan comeback on our big screens? After years of their tandem’s break from our primetime slots, they came back with a bang as they star in this MMFF 2023 entry, Rewind in collaboration with Star Cinema.

Here Comes the Groom

Here comes ‘Here Comes the Groom’, walking down the aisle of the VPCA’s official nominees for movie of the year! This film surely made our Pipol roll on the floor with its humorous plots and lines. Truly, laughter is the best medicine!

Becky and Badette

Power duos on big screens filled our 2023, just like Becky and Badette, starring Eugene Domingo and Pokwang! This comedic duo surely caught the hears and humors of the Pipol, making them one of the official nominees for VPCA’s movie of the year.

Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme

They chilled our spine, so they deserve to be in this line! This iconic anthology film went back not only on our big screens but even in our 3AM thoughts! They shook us, rattled us, and now they’re rolling onto the movie of the year list.

Other than these outstanding films that tickled our imaginations, touched our hearts, and challenged our humors, Village Pipol Choice Awards also unveiled more nominees for the Entertainment category.
