New Twitter CEO is determined to build a brighter future for the bird app

Linda Yaccarino, the new CEO of Twitter, stated in a tweet on Saturday, May 13, that she has been inspired by Elon Musk’s vision for a brighter future and is looking forward to taking part in the platform’s transformation.

As Musk announced on Friday, May 12, Yaccarino had been appointed to the position of Twitter CEO. It was the first time Yaccarino had spoken publicly since the news broke Thursday, May 11. Musk has served as Twitter CEO since his $44 billion buyout last October.

The new CEO tweeted, “I’ve long been inspired by [Musk’s] vision to create a brighter future. I’m excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together!”

The social media platform Yaccarino takes over is struggling with revenue declines and heavy debts. Yaccarino will try to reverse the trend.

She is the advertising chief of Comcast Corp’s CMCSA.O NBCUniversal and she stated that she has spent several years modernizing the company’s ad business. Yaccarino strongly emphasizes that she commits to Twitter’s future, and she believes user feedback will lead to Twitter 2.0.

As a result of Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, advertisers have fled the platform, worried that their ads may appear next to inappropriate content. He acknowledged earlier this year that Twitter’s revenue had declined substantially since the billionaire acquired the company.

Despite Musk’s claims that the company will create an “everything app” that could offer a wide range of services, such as peer-to-peer payments, the selection of Yaccarino indicates that digital advertising will remain the company’s core focus.
