For My IG and IRL Boyfriend: Here’s how you can take better photos of me

This article is definitely dedicated to my IG and IRL boyfriend. And, hopefully, he learns how to take better photos of me. That sounds so narcissistic but, eh, it is what it is. I have been in a relationship with my significant other for almost seven years. And, one of the things that we argue about is how he should be taking photos of me. When he takes photos of his friends, they look amazing. But, when I ask him to take a photo of me, it just looks so plain awkward. I don’t want to call him out but…

To my Instagram and IRL (in real life) Boyfriend, here are ways you should take photos of me:

I love taking photos, especially of the outfits I wear. And, sometimes, I wear these outfits when going on a date with my boyfriend mainly because I just love dressing up when I’m around him. He makes me feel pretty, cool, and edgy, depending on the outfits I wear. The Instagram photos below are either I took myself with a camera timer or other people took for me. So, to my IG and IRL boyfriend, I hope you learn these four tips.

Please keep an open space above my head.

Sometimes, my boyfriend focuses on how I look and less on how the photo itself looks. It comprises the quality of the photo as a whole. Keep the ground out of it. No one wants to see the floor.

Lower the phone to a different angle.

Taking photos straight on sometimes look a little too boring. But, if the photographer takes the photo in a lower angle, the subject — me — will appear taller. I’m not that tall. So, this tip is a must for me.

Or, take photos from a high angle.

Raising the camera higher than eye level adds definition to the features of the subject — again, me. Plus, it has a slimming effect. I’m not that thin but I do have curves in all the right places. And, the higher angle adds to this effect.

Photograph movement.

This is one of my favorite tricks. Moving around while posing makes the shots involve motion, turning it better than the highly-posed ones. Plus, it shows off more of my personality and have fun with it. Take photos of me walking, of me running around, of me dancing around. It looks natural, doesn’t it?

This article is definitely dedicated to my IG and IRL boyfriend. And, hopefully, he learns how to take better photos of me. That sounds so narcissistic but it is what it is. By the way, I love you. Thank you for putting up with my idiocy. LOL
