Students must partake in activities that promote mental clarity and equip them to take on academic problems. Reading for pleasure, keeping a journal of reflection, participating in extracurricular activities, scheduling downtime, and maintaining relationships with loved ones are a few examples of cognitive care activities.

Spiritual well-being

These are choices that we take to get perspective on life beyond the mundane. Prayer, introspective activities like meditation, being outside in nature, visiting a church, mosque, or temple, and sharing your reflections with a close friend, mentor, or family member for support are some examples of spiritual self-care practices. Responding to students about self-care will help them figure out what works best and identify things they can do going forward to take care of their bodies, mind, and soul.
