Dagat-dagatan Camp Site: A next destination for your nature trip in Tanay

Are you wondering where to go on your next nature tripping? If you are living in Manila, Tanay is one of the go-to hiking and camping destinations you can visit for a quick or long nature getaway with your family and friends. Some of you may have already visited the Daranak Falls, Mt. Daraitan, Tinipak River, Camp Agos, etc. But in this article, allow me to take you to another pocket of paradise in Tanay.

It is called Dagat-dagatan Camp Site, a campground and eco-adventure located in the beautiful natural environment of Barangay Cuyambay Tanay. Dagat-Dagatan is not an ordinary camping area. It offers opportunities to go swimming, fishing, boating, and having a bonfire. Hence, it provides a unique camping experience for families and barkadas seeking a getaway from the hustle of their daily lives and a deeper connection with nature.

It’s not an easy drive to the campground. Some parts of the roads are still underdeveloped. You will have to drive on a steep and rough road and even pass a small and shallow river. However, tricycles, motors, and cars can still pass through the terrain.

Accommodations

Dagat-Dagatan is open for two kinds of tour in their campground. For those who wants to experience their campsite for just a day, you can avail their day tour for only P150/head. Also, they also offer an overnight experience for only P250/head. You can bring a tent and pay P50 for tent pitching or rent with them for P500. If you don’t want to pitch or rent a tent, they also have kubos and cottages for accommodation for small and big group of family and friend.

Activities and Attractions

The campground provides a variety of activities and amenities to make your camping trip relaxing and fun. There is a public bathroom that is easily accessible and conveniently situated at the campground. For those who appreciate fishing, there is a lake where you can do so. A P50 fishing fee will be the only thing you need to pay. If you wish to explore more of the surrounding nature, you may try their boating or pedal boating activities. Two swimming pools are also available for use by families and friends. At night, a bonfire would also be perfect for gathering. Hence, you can avail it for P150.

Dagat-Dagatan is definitely an Instagram-worthy place. Climb up to their hand statue and the camping name letter sign to get a better view of the area. What makes the experience even better, it is surrounded by lovely plant landscape. If you want to meditate and connect with the nature, you can simply set a chair besides the lake and gaze the water, birds and trees around.

Food and Drinks

Of course, a camping trip without food and drinks is incomplete. Dagat-Dagatan allows its campers to bring their own food and cooking essentials with them inside. If you want to grill some meat or seafood, they also have a fire pit and a grill area for cooking. There is also a sari-sari store outside if you want to buy drinks or snacks. However, I think everyone can agree that food prepared outside simply tastes better.
