Do you also enjoy headbanging to funk-rock music to occasionally dance your emotions through every beat? Me too! The aggressiveness of the drums and bass collide with powerful lyrics and voices, making this theme intensely unique. And to most people, it is certainly music to the ear.
Luckily, our generation has Paramore‘ Hayley William and Billie Eilish. A duo performance that we never thought we would see on one stage.
Coachella 2022: Billie x Hayley
Last week, at Coachella’s first weekend, Billie Eilish brought out Damon Albarn to the stage. They were singing “Getting Older” before he launched into a rendition of Gorillaz’s “Feel Good Inc” (featuring Pos from De La Soul).
For the event’s second week, Billie brings Hayley Williams of Paramore to the stage.
After Eilish and her brother Finneas performed “Your Power” Williams’ presence occurred. And when the song ended, there was a brief gap during which anticipation permeated the room. Eilish took a seat on a stool, saying, “Oh, look! An empty seat. Who’s that for?” She then goes, “Everybody, can we please welcome my friend Hayley Williams!”
Hayley takes the stage after an unexpected introduction, saying, “This is my first Coachella. Woah! Thanks for sharing this with me – this is sick!”.
The first song that Billie and Hayley’s sing is an acoustic version of Paramore’s one of the hits, “Misery Business.” Hayley sings the first verse, Billie in the second, then the two great artists sing together in the chorus.
After that, when Billie Eilish is performing her new hit song, “Happier Than Ever,” Hayley also joined singing the song’s second part, the heavy one, monolithically. Billie Eilish truly owned her headline through her Coachella performances so far.
It’s been quite a while since we heard Hayley Williams performing on stage. Since then, her voice is still timeless and undeniably blends together with Billie.
The question is: Will Hayley be back with another album? Or a collab with Billie?
Either way, both artists’ fans are simply glad that this performance happened. And regardless of what’s plans it is, people are ‘still into’ Paramore and Billie Eilish.
