All you need to know about Viu’s musical narratives series ‘Still’

Mark your calendar! Still musical series for the Quarantine Generation is strumming on Viu this September 10. A collaboration of theatre, film and music. From the creator Mula sa Buwan and Dekada ’70 Musical. Also, the makers of Respeto and Apocalypse Child. Lastly, the composer behind the megahit song Tala. Proudly presents to you the first-ever Filipino Viu original musical narratives.

All you need to know about Viu’s musical narratives series Still

Still is about the group of young artists stuck and stranded in a music camp during the nationwide lockdown. Despite the situation, they still find hope through love, friendship and music. Through songs and stage, they want to show the world why their voices matter.

It is an 8-episode musical series starting on September 10 until October 29. Set to premiere every Friday at 8 PM.

Meet the cast

Starring Julie Ann San Jose (Asia’s Pop Divaand Christian Bautista (Asia’s Romantic Balladeer). Also, Gab Pangilinan (Philippine Theater Princess), and Bituin Escalante (Music Icon). Together with Mike Shimamoto, Lance Reblando, Abe Autea and Gabby Padilla.

Meet the creators

The musical series Still is written by Pat Valera (Mula sa Buwan, Dekada ’70 Musical). Along with co-creators Giancarlo Abrahan and Nicco Manalo. Directed by Treb Monteros music video director of Respeto. Lead producer, Monter Jimenez, together with Viu Philippines and This Side Up. Collaboration with Arkeofilms, TheaterFansManila.com, Flip Music, and Black Box Collab. Music of Nica Del Rosario (Tala), Mike Shimamota and Matthew Chang.

My perceptions and expectations

Honestly, watching the first teaser impresses me. It will make you feel that you shouldn’t miss this musical series. Of course, the support you want to give to our great local artists. I have expectations and hopes that this would be a successful series. Yes, I am rooting and looking forward to them. Their success is also ours!
