Wanna g ba sa Starbs but don’t know what to order, bruh? Don’t worry, agotchu agotchu. Starbucks Philippines have just released their newest Cheesecake Series as their summer drinks last June 7! Are these drinks worth a place on your Top Starbucks Drinks list? We tried it for you and here’s a review because… why not?
Cheesecake and coffee? Sign me up!
You might be wondering… “Cheesecake? On coffee? Really?” Indeed, it is a no-brainer that cheesecake works best as a dessert. But what if I tell you that Starbucks Philippines is now serving your daily dose of cheesecake but as a drink, not a cake?
For the month of June, Starbucks’ seasonal drinks are inspired by everyone’s favorite dessert: cheesecake. There are five variants to your new favorite summer drinks: Strawberry Raspberry Cheesecake Cream Frappucino, Hazelnut Mocha Cheesecake Frappucino, Strawberry Raspberry Cheesecake Latte, Hazelnut Mocha Cheesecake Latte, and Honey Ruby Grapefruit Cold Brew. The sweet flavor of cheesecake, mixed with the divine taste of coffee—what more can you ask for?
Our honest review
We tried two flavors for you: Strawberry Raspberry Cheesecake Latte and Hazelnut Mocha Cheesecake Latte, both iced. As someone who loves both coffee and sweets, here’s our honest review of the two drinks that we’ve tried:
Strawberry Raspberry Cheesecake Latte
The Strawberry Raspberry Cheesecake Latte features Starbucks’ signature espresso with cream cheese sauce and berry flavors. Its whipped cream is drizzled with strawberry syrup and white chocolate shreds on top. This drink is available in hot or iced.
The flavor? A solid 10/10! It is not too sweet despite its flavor, definitely perfect for an early morning sugar rush! Served iced, every sip is refreshing! It is definitely a drink made for the summer heat! Despite being served with espresso, the taste and flavor makes it more like a refreshing summer drink than a coffee. There’s also strawberry and raspberry sinkers in this drink which provided a fruity flavor. Indeed, fruity and sweet is the best combination for summer, isn’t that right?
Hazelnut Mocha Cheesecake Latte
On the other hand, the Hazelnut Mocha Cheesecake Latte brags Starbucks’ signature espresso and milk, with light cream cheese and hazelnut. This drink is topped with whipped cream, mocha drizzle, and white chocolate shreds. This drink is also available in hot or iced.
If you’re more into a coffee flavor, then this is perfect for your daily caffeine yet sweet kick! I’ll give this one a 9/10 as it is not that fit for a summer drink, but it still tastes so good! The sweetness of the cheesecake and shredded chocolates on top complements the somewhat bitter taste of hazelnut mocha. Rather than a summer drink, I think this will do better as a not-so-formal meeting kind of drink. Of course, what better way to enjoy your coffee than with a few sweet kick, right?
What makes a good coffee better? A splendid view, of course!
We tried Starbucks’ new series of drinks at Starbucks Tagaytay, and believe it or not, it made our drinks taste a whole lot better! The cold breeze in Tagaytay is actually perfect for a hot drink, but we arrived even before their operating hours so the sun is still high up. And no, it’s not just us who were there to wait for Starbucks to open. It seems like having a cup of coffee at Starbucks’ Tagaytay branch is one of every tourists’ goals—even waiting for it to open at sunrise is worth it.
Enjoy your choice of their cheesecake drinks series along with this majestic view! Aside from their always Instagrammable interior, Starbucks Tagaytay also offers al fresco dining! They are located on a ridge-like part of the land with an open view of the clear, blue sky and wide, green landscapes! Even if you turn your head in any direction, there will always be a breathtaking view waiting for you. Surely, there is nothing more perfect than a combination of delicious coffee and relaxing view.
