TRAVEL LIST: Places to visit in Europe

When we think of Europe, the first thing that immediately comes to mind is Paris, Spain, London, and Italy, as well as the tourist attractions surrounding them. However, I believe there is much more to see and explore in Europe. So, if there’s one thing that can’t be taken out of my travel bucket list, it’s traveling Europe. From its breathtaking beauty to the rich history and culture it can offer, Europe is arguably a construction of art!

Why Europe? Perhaps because I was fascinated in Greek and Roman mythology as a child. But I’ve discovered a lot more than Europe’s myth, which has made me fall in love with this part of the world even more. Situated entirely in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Eastern Hemisphere, Europe is a continent comprising forty-five countries that are distinctive with each other. If you like Greek and Roman classic architecture like me, the famous Colosseum is in Rome and the complex style of the leaning Tower of Pisa is in Italy as well.

Why else would we love to visit Europe? Of course, because of its mouth watering delicacies! Aside from the amazing architectural styles of the buildings in Europe, this place also offers a wide variety of good cuisine. Italian pizza and pasta, Swedish meatballs, Spanish croquetas, German desserts—you name it. You’ll surely not gonna stop eating when in Europe.

Afraid of getting lost while traveling? Don’t worry, Europe is easily accessible. Its well-planned transport system could bring you to so many places.

Finally, and in my opinion, the most essential consideration in choosing Europe as an escape destination, it has a rich history to tell. I believe traveling is more fun when you’ve got to learn how the people in the places you have stepped in have lived through their stories.

So, now that I’ve mentioned the reasons to visit Europe, allow me to walk you through the European destinations you should not miss!

Greece

Considered as the Mediterranean gem, Greece is famous for its stunning sandy islands and white-washed buildings. Familiar with Santorini? It’s in Greece! It’s arguably one of the most frequented destinations in the country, and if given the opportunity, I’d like to gaze into oblivion and lose myself in the beauty of the sunset from the top of one of Santorini’s blue dome churches. Nothing beats a single time in the midst of nowhere with the midnight sun. In addition, I wish to explore Greece’s ancient and elegant historic structures to learn about the tale of its glorious past.

Amsterdam

Everyone must have seen the photo of vibrant fields of colorful tulips while scrolling through social media. Tell me you didn’t fall head over heels for it. Because, I, personally, am super in love with it. I want to experience and see how beautiful these flower fields are in person. And I know that Amsterdam is capable of providing me with such a stunning view. On top of that, you may cruise Amsterdam either by boat or a bicycle because it is encircled by bridges and canals. These canals dried up during winter season, waiting for it to be skated on to. I’ve also learnt that Amsterdam has the best coffee shops, and as a coffee enthusiast I couldn’t wait to visit these cafés!

Iceland

With Iceland’s landscapes and natural scenery, it’s not just the midnight sun and the massive ice glaciers that you would want to see. Witnessing the captivating beauty of the aurora borealis (northern lights) is on my ‘to-do before I die’ list. It would be a really bizarre experience if I could see it in Iceland. Moreover, Iceland has natural pools and geothermal spa making it a popular bathing destination. What an extraordinary and definitely a to die for adventure!

 England

Up for terrific scenery, amazing landscapes, and picturesque towns? England is for you! England surely has a lot to offer more than what we think. It is surrounded with endearing wildlife that will easily captivate an animal lover. It’s also no secret that England has so many exquisite and well-styled structures. This includes the London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben Tower and more. Additionally, its capital is renowned for its top-notch dining, cutting-edge fashion, and outstanding shopping. On the other hand, if you’ve been searching for a getaway from the city, England is the place to go. Its countryside is home to beautiful mountains and lakes, hiking trails, and cobbled streets lined with traditional-styled villages.

Croatia

Explore hidden coves, eat fresh seafood over a local wine or beer, sail a boat while admiring picturesque views of the town—Croatia will not disappoint!

Croatia is renowned for its serene islands and crystal clear water beaches. That’s why an annual yacht week has become a tradition in this place. Imagine riding a boat over a mirror-like water while interacting with other festival goers? That’s one of a kind experience. So, if you’re a fan of sailing, you definitely shall not miss inducing Croatia on your list! Besides, Croatia is home of incredible greeneries. I, myself, would enjoy just staring at its incredible nature parks, stunning waterfalls, and wonderful lavender fields. Ultimately, Croatia is a land of history and culture!
