6 Essentials That Keep Me Healthy While Traveling
Travel has come back in full swing. With COVID-19 cases dwindling down, it seems as if it has become a perfect time to book flights and accommodations to a new destination. However, before I throw my bikinis in my luggage, I have to make sure that I’m keeping myself healthy. That way, I can enjoy the destination and have fun.
So, here are the essentials that keep me healthy while traveling:
vitamins
Travel can take a toll on our bodies. So, vitamins are a must. Especially when we’re not on our regular routines, sleeping less, and indulging a little more. I bring Vitamin C for energy and protection against diseases and issues. Aside from that, I also bring Biotin for hair and nail growth, as well as a way to help me manage my blood sugar levels. Then, I bring Vitamin E for healthy immune system, skin, and eyes. I put them all in a little yellow vitamin pill case.
40oz water bottle
Although we’re not allowed to bring too many fluids inside the airport, I would bring my bottle, keep it empty, and refill it once I reach my destination. Having a regular-sized water bottle is a little bit problematic for me, especially when I refill them over and over again. So, I purchased a 40oz bottle from Kool PH to stay hydrated during my travels. Aside from that, I bring my own water bottle to reduce the consumption of single-use plastic items. That way, I can stay hydrated and keep my travels sustainable.
sunscreen
As UV rays increase, so is the risk of sunburn. Since our skin is our largest organ, protecting it with sunscreens should also be included in our musts. Although there are so many different sunscreens we can choose from, I use Face Republic’s Purity Sun Essense with SPF50+ for my face and LANA PH Skin Protect Brightening Sunblock for my body.
wireless headphones
I once rode a plane without bringing a pair of headphones with me. I was stuck in the middle of the flight, struggling to relax because of all the noise. Aside from that, all the noise was starting to trigger my chronic migraines. So, it wasn’t a very fun plane ride. Although I wish I have the Baseus Bowie H1 Noise-Canceling Wireless Headphones, it was a little pricey. As of now, however, I bought a cheap pair before I can finally buy the ones I wanted.
meditation app
I live with chronic migraines. With that said, I have to have a way to relax and calm myself down. I have to avoid too much heat and drink lots of water. Aside from that, I also have to wear sunglasses to prevent my eyes from drying up and giving me a migraine. Sometimes, traveling and the packed itinerary that I have makes it harder for me to sleep. And, if I don’t sleep well, it could also trigger my migraines. So, I have a meditation app on my phone. That way, I can completely relax, fall asleep, and avoid chronic pain.
cleansing wipes
Traveling makes my skin oily and dirty. So, I bring gentle cleansing facial wipes like Nature Republic’s Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Cleansing Tissue. That way, if I need a mid-day refresh, I can be hydrated with a simple wipe. I also research ingredients and make sure that it has aloe vera. That way, I can gain the benefits of using it.
