Pride Proud Influencers Who Taught Me About Makeup & Skincare

Diving deep into the fast-paced trend of makeup and skincare feels pretty overwhelming for a beginner. The world of makeup and skincare is vast yet so condensed that it leaves newbies—like myself—confused and terrified.

Thankfully, I didn’t dive in alone. These influencers define the very phrase ‘we tried it so you don’t have to’. Their hauls, first impressions, wear tests, reactions, and recommendations made learning everything about makeup and skincare so easy. These pride proud content creators saved me from skincare and makeup disasters!

Pride Proud Influencers Who Taught Me About Makeup & Skincare

Bretman Rock

What is this list without Bretman Rock? Bretman is pride proud through and through! Before his exit into the beauty community, Bretman Rock was everything and everywhere in the makeup industry. His taste in fashion and makeup combined with his great sense of humor skyrocketed his popularity through the roof.

Bretman Rock really loved doing his sister’s makeup and vice versa and to be honest, we did too! In those vlogs, Bretman gets to show how he puts the makeup products together step-by-step. Putting comedy aside, I learned a lot from those vlogs as a beginner.

Teree Daisuke

Teree Daisuke, who personified ‘Boogsh, gandang bata oh! Sinong mama mo?’, is a TikTok beauty and skincare content creator. Teree is distinguishable for his series ‘A Beginner’s Guide’ in which he showcases beginner-friendly makeup tutorials. These tutorials range from learning how to use a concealer to creating a full-glam look. In his tutorials, he recommends tried-and-tested makeup products both from local and international brands. Most of his recommendations are already in my makeup kit!

Aside from makeup, Teree Daisuke also creates a beginner-friendly guide in skincare. Diving head first into skincare can get you in trouble since every skin has different types of needs. Teree’s beginner’s guide series features basic skincare tips which begin with knowing what type of skin you have. He is also very transparent when reviewing the products he uses both in makeup and skincare.

Nate Javier or MissNateMakeup

Despite his recent involvement in bullying allegations, MissNateMakeup remains a prominent figure in the TikTok beauty community. He’s known for creating side-by-side comparisons of the same products made by different brands. As an oily person, Miss Nate’s recommendations helped me find the right products for my skin type.

Like Teree, Miss Nate also shares skincare product recommendations. Among the TikTok beauty content creators, I learned a lot about skincare from his videos. He popularized the use of gua sha, a traditional Chinese massage tool, in the local beauty community. It turns out, a gua sha helps depuff and improve blood circulation in the face. Aside from gua sha, his beginner guide about using retinol pushed me to begin my own retinol journey.

Belle Rodolfo

Belle Rodolfo, a pride-proud queer, is my recent favorite TikTok beauty content creator. As a morena, we struggle in finding makeup products that compliment our tanned skin. There’s the struggle of finding a foundation or skin tint shade that matches your skin. There’s also that difficulty in finding a blush or lipstick shade that compliments tanned skin. Because of these, Belle and Marj Maroket have always been my go-to content creators when it comes to makeup products. I trust her recommendations in my life.

Besides that, I also love watching her ‘day in the life’ vlogs showing peeks at her life as a queer. Her mini vlogs with her partner are so calming and very fun to watch!

Dexter Mongcal

Dexter Mongcal truly stands out from this list. If there’s a newly launched makeup product, I’m definitely waiting for his review first before grabbing it. When reviewing makeup and skincare products, I can count on his honesty whether he truly likes a product or not. He blatantly tells his viewers if a product is worth splurging on or not.

Most beauty content creators go for an everyday, clean girl look with little to no eye makeup. As a beginner, I’m most captivated with creating different eye makeup looks, from simple to full-on smokey eye. That’s probably why I’m obsessed with Dexter Mongcal, his eye makeup looks are always serving! He’s not afraid of putting together bright colors to make his eyes pop.

As these pride proud beauty gurus say—makeup and skincare have no rules, you do you! So, hop on their TikTok and learn everything about makeup and skincare!
