There are a ton of lines from Euphoria that went viral for being a Tiktok sound. Most of which are humorous and relatable. But this show packs more than just for laughs. Being that, there are plenty of character lines that you can really ponder on.
Here are a few lines from the hit show Euphoria that nobody really talks about.
“You know I spent my whole life trying to keep this part of me separate. But I feel like it’s poisoned everything. I thought that I was doing what was best for everybody.” -Cal Jacobs
Cal tells a tragic story of a man who never had the chance to express his true self. As a result, he never had the chance to express genuine affection and other emotions. Which lead to his true self being repressed and he was obligated to express them in secret as time goes by.
This is one of the lines in Euphoria that will make you empathize with an initially hatable character, and it tells the importance of genuine self-expression.
“I feel like love is super dark and no one ever talks about it.” – Cassie Howard
Cassie went from being a sweet and rootable character to the most hated one in the entire show. Even so, you can’t deny that she can sometimes make a lot of sense, much like when she dropped this line about love.
Unlike most of Cassie’s questionable lines in the show, this one is pretty much agreeable but only if you take it into a different context. It is true that it’s not always rainbows and butterflies when it comes to love, it gets dirty, it gets ugly, it gets dark. But that’s what makes it beautiful.
“You’ve got to believe in the poetry because everything else in your life will fail you. Even yourself.” –Ali
Writers and poets will probably relate to Ali’s sentiment. It is true that life can put you down in so many ways, and sometimes the only thing to make sense of it is to find the beauty in it. Find poetry, find art or anything beautiful out of the mess.
“When you’re younger, everything feels so permanent. But as you get older, you begin to realize nothing is and everyone you love can drift away.” –Rue
Rue drops a ton of life-changing lines throughout the whole show and this one is probably the one that hits the hardest. Especially for young adults, since we’re at the point of our lives when we realize that nothing lasts.
“Plenty of great, intelligent, funny, interesting, and creative people have struggled with the same things you struggle with.” –Leslie
Leslie herself is an underrated character with very few lines on the show, which gives her an edge because when she does have time to speak, she speaks of the truth.
This one line is a classic example of that. This line is so special that it can be applied in different contexts, whatever type of grief you’re currently in there’s a 100% chance that a lot of other people are feeling it as well.
That’s not to say that you are not special, it only means that no matter how lonely and weak you feel, someone out there feels the exact same or even worse. The thought can sometimes make you feel less alone.
What lines in Euphoria do you think we should shed light on next?
Everything Maria creates is an honest and sincere expression of who she is. She decorates her free time making things that are close to her heart, like poetry and music. She has a knack for public speaking but prefers to write everything down instead. Because spoken words are fleeting, written ones can outlive us all.
