Lista PH Introduces a New Budgeting Feature in Time for the Holiday Season

Just like Santa Claus, your wish is Lista’s command! Lista is the fastest-growing financial management app in the Philippines that recently revealed a new Personal Budgeting feature.

Christmas is known to be the Season of the Giving. It’s the time we empty out our wallets on a gift-shopping spree to give to our loved ones. This tradition has long stayed with Filipinos and it usually wouldn’t be a problem. But with inflation exponentially rising, people have found themselves in the dilemma of managing their budget.

According to Lista’s findings, the most expensive gifts Filipinos save up for the coming holidays are the following: Motorbikes with an average target budget of P54,000, new phones at P25,000, travel at P23,000, and Christmas celebration necessities at P17,000. At perfect timing, Lista introduced a new Personal Budgeting feature at a media event on November 23, 2022. This feature aims to provide users more control over how they pursue their own financial goals and long-term value investments.

According to Lista Co-Founder, Aaron Villegas, “Being aware of how we spend is one of the best ways to utilize money. Through Personal Budgeting on Lista, we envision every Filipino to easily gain financial clarity through the help of technology,” he added, “With the holidays coming up, whether you’re planning to buy gifts or a spread for your Christmas celebration, Lista makes it easy to see where your hard-earned money goes, and helps you maximize your budget to help you give more to what’s most important in your life.”

Personal Budgeting Feature

The Personal Budgeting feature allows users to list their expenses and get reports on their spending. In line with this, insights, where summaries and facts based on your budgeting and expenses are laid out, will be soon launched. In addition, users will also receive friendly messages and tips on how they can better manage their personal finances. A budgeting cycle ranges from weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly periods.

Lista also suggested a “basic and realistic” framework called the 70-20-10 budgeting principle. This divides income into three with 70% allocated for needs, 20% for savings, and 10% for wants.

“Lista was created to help every Filipino raise their quality of life, one step at a time. Beyond the holidays, budgeting is a great way to gain control over your income, which is why we’ve made it easier for Filipinos to create a budget, stick to it, and use it as a tool to gain greater financial freedom,” said Khriztina Lim, Co-Founder of Lista PH.

Lista was originally created to target small business owners with three main features. These include Transaction, where you can track the money that comes in and out and later determine the profit, Utang, and Savings Challenge to monitor created and completed savings goals. Over time, people started installing the app for personal finances despite not being the target market. After this observation, the co-founders came up with the Personal Budgeting feature.

Lista takes pride in prioritizing Filipinos with its user-friendly navigation. Both co-founders have repeatedly emphasized the aim to make Lista an app for everyone. Soon, financial services will be launched to allow maximized utilization of the app and have it ready for all Filipinos to use.

Lista PH is available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
