Trends come and go, that’s for sure. And, it’s been told that silver has always been reserved for the festive season. But, this 2023, the metallic hue has dominated tons of designers’ spring and summer collections. These also include Gucci, Versace, and Chanel among others.

So, it’s not that surprising that this trend filters toward mainstream fashion.

And, of course, Filipina girlies shouldn’t fall behind with this trend. Since the Philippines is a tropical country, it will be hard to layer clothing upon clothing just to achieve this trend. Plus, the color graced runways after runways. So, why not keep it accessible with casual wear?

That’s why I’m styling silver in a casual way for our Filipina girlies this 2023.

According to Vogue UK, silver separates are “the easiest way to add a touch of silver to your outfits in 2023.” They also point out that one high-shine item tones down other basics or muted pieces. So, to start this styling journey, I found this silver mini skirt that you can dress down with black and silver embellishments. You can wear it with a black baseball cap, mini cardigan, black leather sling bag, black belt, and a pair of black and white Nike dunks.

This dress doesn’t have an overly metallic hue. It’s a little toned down but it has a slight silver sheen that may not be visible in the photo. It also has a draped neckline and adjustable spaghetti straps. You can dress it down with a black cropped mock neck, loafers, a black baguette bag, and black and gold accessories.

I’m pretty sure that a lot of us have bought some sort of silver pair of shoes for holiday parties. And, you might think that you can only wear those during night outs and parties. But, it doesn’t have to be. For example, you have a pair of metallic silver boots or metallic silver stilettos. You can dress it down with a black cropped collared top and a pair of straight denim dark-washed jeans. Then, add silver and black embellishments to accessorize your otherwise simple outfit.
