The PIPOL has spoken, and they have chosen their queens! Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee won Breakthrough Social Media Star of the Year and Drag Race Philippines S2’s Arizona Brandy as the Local Drag Queen of the Year at the 5th Village Pipol Choice Awards (VPCA).
Village Pipol Choice Awards once again felt the power of the PIPOL’s influence. With its enchanting theme “Celestial Radiance: A Night of Luminous Elegance,” this prestigious event, spearheaded by Village Pipol and Red Entertainment Inc., acknowledges the luminaries across diverse industries, who sculpt the landscape of pop culture and entertainment with their unmistakable brilliance.
Michelle Dee and Arizona Brandy Reign as Queens of the 5th VP Choice Awards
Michelle Dee made the whole country proud as she represented the Philippines in Miss Universe 2023, as we vie for the 5th universe crown. Leaving a spectacular performance, Dee finished at the Top 10. Moreover, she made an unforgettable performance as she wore a black evening gown inspired by Apo Whang-od and local indigenous tattoos, bringing culture to the front and delivering a new taste in the pageantry world.
On the other hand, Cubao Drag Royalty Arizona Brandy, brought the fun and Filipino Drag Excellency to mainstream for her race to be the next drag superstar finishing as the 1st-Runner Up on the second season of Drag Race Philippines. Her flamboyant personality, shady lines, unexpected tricks, and of course, vape couture was well-received by the audience and instantly made her one of the fan favorites of the season.
Within the social media category, the 5th VPCA seeks to spotlight individuals whose presence and contributions have left a lasting impact on the digital world.
