Olivia Rodrigo releases ‘Driving Home 2 U (A SOUR Film)’

No one had the most spectacular road trip experience than Olivia Rodrigo.

For some people, taking a road trip from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles is normal. But to Olivia, this is the road where she began writing her record-breaking debut album SOUR. And now, she also releases “Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film).”

In 2021, the record ‘Sour’ was undoubtedly one of the most influential and got seven Grammy nominations. Therefore, Olivia Rodrigo’s new documentary ‘Driving Home 2 U’ illuminates how the record came to be.

About “Driving Home 2 u”

Olivia’s new cinematic road trip film titled Driving home 2 u is a Disney+ original film. Its from Disney Branded Television, directed by Stacey Lee and produced by Supper Club and Interscope Films.

This film is an intimate one. She shares memories as she describes how each song was created. Her most vulnerable moments, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, and audio clips to create a dynamic, revelatory video diary are also included.

As you watch this film, you will see that the songs are arranged uniquely. And you will love Salt City Lake and Los Angeles too!

In some ways, it succeeds in making you feel as though the journey is the focus rather than the destination.

Olivia Rodrigo and Dan Nigro Partnership

Olivia Rodrigo’s Driving Home 2 U is largely a series of videos featuring her talking about the album at length.

Moreover, you would also see Dan Nigro in the film. Dan supported Olivia’s songwriting and production throughout the making of SOUR.

Is there a new song from Olivia in the film?

There is, however, no new ‘Drivers License’ performance in the film. Thus, if you wanted to check the full footage of Olivia performing her songs at shows and festivals, you would surely love this film.

But Dan Nigro plays a clip of an unreleased song. It is called ‘Crying in the Parking Lot,’ and an unreleased demo is also featured at the end.
