Personal Picks: Four K-drama you should try to watch

These days binge-watching K-drama series is my go-to hobby whenever I have free time. I always have this “me time” routine by watching series with different plots and genres. Actually, for years of being a fan of K-pop. I just started to truly immerse myself in watching k-drama back in 2018. I just found myself enjoying recommended series by my friends.

Hence, I ended up exploring different dramas. For years, watching K-drama series became also my system. I mean whenever I finish a task or an exam. I usually reward myself watching the whole series up until the sun goes down. Well, we all have moments that we should enjoy ourselves. For me, watching anything that will boil my blood or makes me happy with super nakakakilig moments is enough for a day.

If you’re a newbie in the world of K-drama. Take it with me! As I recommend you some of my personal picks. These are composed of old and new ones.

SKY Castle (2018-2019)

This boils my blood as freaking hell. Nevertheless, I just found myself crying, laughing, and confused. I mean, this drama has a roller coaster ride of emotions. Never have I witness a drama that triggers me and my inner self.

However, if you’re curious about the plot, it revolves around the lives of four women namely Han Seo-Jin, Lee Soo-Im, No Seung-Hye, and Jin Jin-Hee. They are living in a luxurious SKY Castle neighborhood. Wherein, they try to make their husbands more successful and raise their children like princes and princesses.

SKY Castle is a tearjerker and blood boiling drama, so if I were you. Try to prepare some tissue beside you and don’t forget to have your water. Additionally, it also has great actors and actresses portraying their roles perfectly. Starring Yum- Jung Ah, Kim Hye-Yoon, Lee Tae-Ran, Yoon Se-Ah, Park Yoo-Na, Oh Na-Ra, Kim Seo-Hyung, and Kim Bo-Ra.

 Mr. Queen (2020)

Whenever I feel sad, I usually pick dramas to lighten up my day. Mr. Queen was released just last year and it helps me to survive my online class. If you’re curious about the title itself, well the least that I can say is, it’s hilarious and super nakaka-kilig!.

The story revolves around a period drama wherein a male chef from the modern era inhibits the body of a Joseon Queen. While, the reigning King has a lot of problems since he was controlled by the late King Sunjo’s Queen, Sun Woo. Taking advantage of ruling the realm under the King’s name.

However, this drama also receives a high rating for its well-crafted plot. The acting is freaking phenomenal since of course, the main lead has superb skills on it. Starring Shin Hye-Sun, Kim Jung-Hyun, Bae Jong-Ok, Kim Tae-Woo, Seo In-Ah, and Choi Jin-Hyuk.

 Vagabond (2019)

Exploring different genres will allow you to learn about the different perspectives of storylines. This action packed-series with 16 episodes to watch will surely take you to complete a puzzle. You will understand if you watch this series on Netflix. However, if you’re into societal issues and conflict with a taste of spies and agents. You must add this to your list.

Honestly, at first, I was hesitant to watch this drama as I usually opt to watch action series on Western movies. But, I’m happy that I’ve watched this series. Very frustrating and confusing as it will revolve your suspicion to some obvious suspects. The thing with its storyline is, it’s not predictable at all. You will see yourself shocked about who’s the real culprit. What I’ve learned about this drama? Never trust anyone! The drama also starred household names including Lee Seung-Gi, Bae Suzy, and Shin Sung-Rok.
