“This morning, I got some test results back for coronavirus and it came back positive. Yeah and it sucks. Listen, I’m doing okay. Sabrina hasn’t been tested and she’s doing okay. [We] didn’t have any symptoms. I got tested because I realized I was exposed to someone who had also tested positive. [When] I found out last Friday that they were tested positive, I quarantined myself and got a test immediately and got the results back today.”
Idris Elba encourages everyone to stay vigilant.
Aside from explaining his current situation, Idris encouraged everyone to stay vigilant. He also pointed out that there are people who don’t show symptoms and accidentally spread the virus. With this situation right now, he also hopes that people continue to observe proper hygiene and social distancing.
“Look. This is serious, you know? This is the time to think about social distancing, washing your hands. Beyond that, there are people out there who aren’t showing symptoms and that can easily spread it. Okay? So, now’s the real time to really be vigilant about washing your hands and keeping more distance.”
“We’ve told out families and they’re very supportive. We’ve told our colleagues and you know, transparency is probably the best thing for this right now. If you’re feeling ill and you feel like you should be tested or you’ve been exposed, you have to do something about it, alright? It’s really important.”
Idris Elba was named Sexiest Man Alive in 2018 and starred in blockbuster movies like Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War.
