Work from home jobs you can consider in the new normal

Jobs

The coronavirus pandemic and the economic fallout has caused some businesses to shut down. If they have not entirely closed, they were forced to downsize. This situation has caused a lot of people to lose their jobs. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the unemployment rate rose to 17.7%, equivalent to 7.3 million unemployed Filipinos in the labor force in April 2020.

These statistics are alarming but we have to respond to it and act quickly. This pandemic has caused us high levels of anxiety. Some people have sleepless nights thinking of what to do next. There is so much uncertainty about what will happen next. I, myself have stepped back and think about what I should be doing next. I’m pretty sure that a lot of you can relate.

We need to reskill.

The past few months have given us so much time to reflect on things. Now, more than ever, we realized that the most important is your relationship with God and with your loved ones. We’ve all been asking before for more time with our families. A lot of our time was spent on heavy traffic that we’re left to enjoy things with them during weekends. But if there’s something positive that this crisis has brought us, it made us think and realized a lot of things, that it’s a must to spend more time with our loved ones.

Having said all that, we need to adapt to the new normal. Lucky are those who were allowed by their offices to work from home. If you don’t have the means to do that and yet you want to stay at home to be safe, then you need to reskill. Reskilling or exploring new things can somehow soften the blow. We need to take control of our careers and learn something new. It can also the best time to rediscover your passion, what you love the most. We have the power to change what’s going on in our lives.

Scroll further to know the viable options that you can explore. Mind you that these jobs are all online, you might need to invest in a stable internet connection though.

Real Estate Virtual Assistant

This is the job that I particularly discovered while checking on my possible options. You’re like an Executive Assistant to Real Estate Investors. Your goal is to help them grow their business. You can do admin tasks such as lead generation, skip tracing, and so as social media management. Lead Generation is when you will be calling prospective sellers/buyers to sell or buy their properties. Skip Tracing can be a bit trickier, it’s like you’re a private investigator when you’re trying to get more information about the property. Social media management is when you get the chance to handle the business’s social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Sounds fun right?

If you’re still scratching your heads, my advice is that you check on some tutorials on Youtube. I also highly recommend that you check out REVA Global LLC as they have great training and it’s one of the best companies that handles Real Estate Virtual Assistants.

Content Writing

Another option available is content writing. If you love to write in your journals or you have a passion for creative writing, then this can be the best option for you. Creative writing transports you to a different universe. When you’re able to express your thoughts, a certain rush and excitement flow in your veins. This is something that most of us are familiar with. But content writing is a bit different. It includes writing blog posts, articles, and newsletters to help businesses to market their business.

The Startup

Your focus is to attract customers with your blogs or newsletters. To have this started, you can start by creating a profile through Upwork and look for possible employers looking for content writers.

Do Online Selling

Since most retail shops are closed and people are worried about going outside. Online selling thrived. Many people now opt to order online and have things delivered in their doorstep. You can be a reseller or sell something that you have created. Say for example, if you’re a frustrated cook, now is the best time to rediscover your passion. You can also sell your baked goods and it sells like a hot potato. What you can do is to post it on your social media accounts, join groups/pages, or sell it in the marketplace section on Facebook.

Live Admins

I also recommend that you use hashtags on your posts so that if someone is looking for what you’re offering, it can easily show up.

Try Vlogging

Vlogging can earn you a lot of money. If you’re not camera-shy and you speak well or if you can make people laugh, then this is something that you might want to check. You can talk about anything and everything under the sun. If you love talking then you might as well be paid for it. All you need to do is to create a Youtube account, have it monetized, and create vlogs weekly. You might also need to invest in a good mic, webcam, and a Ringlight. If you gain subscribers and a lot of viewers, then once you have advertisements on it, then you will start earning a lot. We’re talking real moolah baby, ka-ching ka-ching!!!
