On 1993, Miuccia Prada started the brand in Italy, the brand shows the essence of independent women and illustrates the most rebellious and seductive core of contemporary femininity. Since then, the brand became a staple in the fashion industry.

By now, you’ve probably seen the famous micro-set on social media posts or from your icons. It is a pair of mini office professional outfit with a low-cut skirt and high-cropped top, with a belt and pocket lining poking out from the minis.

It was first presented for their Spring/Summer 2022 Basic Instincts collection at Palais d’Iéna in Paris. According to Miu Miu, the collection is a series of portrayals of young creatives who embody the brand’s rebellious esprit. Also, it presents juxtaposition that challenges the conventional and formal outfits which are usually seen as office wears.

Y2K revival

Y2K is a shorthand term for Year 2000. Initially, the term was used as a representation of widespread computer bugs or errors in the year 2000. Following this story, Y2k fashion started. It has a distinctive style that goes between futuristic and retro vibes, it’s definitely an aesthetic that began when the internet became popular.

It’s a micro on huge stars 

Following the runway presentation, multiple styles of the micro-set grew large and exhibits a cultural reset in the fashion industry. Influencers, celebrities, and other huge names are wearing in their own ways of expression, embodying the meaning of its collection.
