How to know if you’ve found ‘The One’
Choosing someone to be a part of our present and future is really a challenge. It is a decision that could make or break everything in our life. To share our lives, the struggles and successes, the highs and lows, with someone is no easy feat. The assurance that this person is the right one is the very thing we need before we jump into a new chapter in our lives.
Who’s really ‘The One’? Let’s look at the signs.
1. Honest
They are not liars. They value the trust you have given them. Dishonesty is never in their books and it is not something they support in themselves and in their peers. Everything they say and do is based on the value of integrity and honesty.
‘The One’ is not afraid to be put in a bad light just because they told the truth about themselves. They are not perfect, but as long as they do not mask their imperfections and replace them with half-truths and lies, they will still remain good in our eyes.
2. Shows up in difficult moments
In times of struggle, the presence of ‘The One’ is very important. They will help you the best they can, even if the only thing you need from them is their existence. But most importantly, they will be there for you even if you do not call for them. Because they love and care for you, they will do everything in their power to ease your pain and worries. They are also firm in giving immediate solutions to your problems. You will not fret or panic because ‘The One’ knows exactly what to do.
3. Knows how to communicate
The thing is, people can love but have a hard time articulating it. ‘The One’ knows by heart how to express his love for you. They know how to appease you. Even at times when you don’t utter a word, they understand you, because they know how to communicate in a healthy manner. It’s a given that action definitely speaks louder than words but in order to execute an action, it’s a must to know the basics of conversation and dialogue by heart. ‘The One’ knows how to behave like a social being because that’s when you know they care for another person other than themselves.
4. Cares for the things that are important to you
You love the environment? They use paper straws instead of plastic. You love to save money? They will learn how to invest and how to handle financial aspects. You love helping the less fortunate people in the community? They will join you and they will love it the same way you do. Or better yet, they will learn to love these things in their own will even if you don’t ask them to. They have been born and raised in a loving and nurturing environment so it’s easy for them to care for the things that matter to you and to the rest of the world.
5. Fights for you
The love between you is enough to make them shun away from their fears. Despite all the internal and external factors affecting the relationship, they will still fight for you no matter what. No amount of pressure or hate for the two of you can take away their desire to stick by you. Even they feel wary of the things going around, they are willing to brave through the challenges in order to preserve your relationship, all because you are worth it.
These signs might be a pipe dream to some, wishful thinking if you may, but there’s no harm in dreaming of THAT person who can give you the TLC you need. Don’t let the world force you into thinking that there is no hope for a happy ending.
