On August 26, 2023, American television host Bob Barker passes away at the age of 99. Well-known for his prosperous career in hosting some of TV’s most popular programs, this includes game shows such as The Price is Right as well as Truth or Consequence.

In the field of beauty pageants, however, Barker is most remembered by fans as the main presenter of both Miss USA and Miss Universe from 1967 to 1987. For over 20 years, he has been the front man of the pageant, introducing the candidates and eventually announcing the lucky lady who would win the most coveted crown.

After Miss Universe 1987, Barker stepped down as host in when his request on the removal of fur prizes for the Miss USA pageant was denied. He was a strong advocate and activist for Animal Rights.
