Why Women Love Wearing Makeup So Much
There have been numerous assumptions as to why women love wearing makeup. There is a saying that the reason why is that they are trying to impress men. A lot of people even think that women do apply makeup as they’re not confident enough to face the world.
Women have been wearing makeup in cultures all around the world for thousands of years already. The types and aesthetics of makeup have changed over time because of technology, but cosmetics have been a mainstay almost as long as human culture has existed. But why do you think women still wear makeup to this day? Here are the reasons why.
Facial contrast
According to studies, women are seen by both men and other women as more attractive when they have a higher contrast in color and shade between their face and their eyes and lips. For example, red lipstick is perceived as much more attractive to men because of the increased level of visual contrast.
Symmetry
One of the physical qualities of the human face that greatly increases its attractiveness to other people on a biological level is symmetry. Many kinds of makeup, such as foundation and concealer, work to make the complexion more even across the entire face, creating a better sense of visual symmetry.
Youth
Many types of makeup make a woman look younger than she actually is. Proper application, foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick can make you look younger than your actual age.
Art
Makeup is a form of art. And just like many other forms of art, it is also a lot of fun. You can try out different looks using makeup and transform yourself into a completely new person. With patience and practice, you can easily learn to put on makeup.
But no matter what the reason is behind why women wear makeup, let the women do whatever they want to do in their lives and let’s just be happy for them.
