I’m thicc and I’m sexy!
Throughout times, there is always a stigma in our society when talking about beauty and body. For you to be tag as gorgeous, you have to conform with the society’s standard — as sexy, or even flawless. Oftentimes, thicc people are disregarded and negatively judged because of their body shape and appearance.
Thicc, as how today’s generation calls refer to big and curvy woman. Usually, thicc woman do have large buttocks and thighs, which is why they’re sometimes tag as chubby. However, chubby girl now is the new sexy.
Chubby are the newest depiction of beauty and sexy because why not?
Growing up, I was always bullied outside and even by some of my family members. Phrases like: “Ang taba-taba mo na!”, “Ano ba ‘yan! Tingnan mo nga ‘yang hitsura mo sa salamin.” or just as simple as “Galit na galit ka talaga sa pagkain ‘no?“. It sometimes hurt most especially since it came from one of your supposed to be support systems. But as I was getting old, I just get use to it.
I tried losing weight, several times – but ended up hating myself because nothing’s happening with how I look. From then, I learn to love myself as who I am and how I look. In the process, I learn to actually empower myself and help thicc women like in empowering themselves and battling against this sick societal standard.
What makes us sexy is the fact that we can wear whatever we like to wear despite being thicc. Nothing makes us so different with other petite girls out there as long as we have the confidence to slay those clothes off! I remember back then, I was really ashamed wearing tops and other clothes with some skin showing off. It pissed me off whenever I get to see my belly fat crazily waving at me every time I look in the mirror.
A series of trials until I finally gain my confident to slay off those tops. After all, a little show off won’t hurt because again why not?
Another thing is the fact that you will never go wrong befriending us! Who would not be happy having a human size teddy bear whom you can hug whenever you like? This one’s a perk of being chubby, I guess. Kidding aside, the fact that we are fluffy, we are obviously so huggable. You get to have comfier lap pillow plus a shoulder to rest on.
Staring at our round and chubby face, you can’t resist yourself not to pinch those squishy cheeks. As a plus size girl, I always feel so overwhelmed whenever my friends are fond of hugging me. Physical touch being my top love language, I always feel valued and loved whenever I receive hugs and pinches.
We are also known as softy, not just physically but even emotionally speaking. We have this very welcoming nature that I guess, automatically catches someones’ attention. However, dating us is sometimes a big problem for some. (I also don’t know why?)
We have been battling with the society’s stigma for so long. Yet, amidst these things we are still and will always be empowered. We’ve faced enough in our pasts which make us more bolder and better today.
And if you’re one of the thicc family, I want you to know how beautiful and loved you are! You are worthy and y’all deserve the genuine love and happiness that life offers. So, if you’re hesitating to go out of your comfort zone, this is your sign! Get your ass up there and face this cruel world with a strong heart! I got you, ladies!
