A Pawssion for Pawtography

Are you one of those people who has a pawssion for pawtography?

There is no doubt that photography has been constant in our lives. Since photos preserved priceless memories, we can think back on them occasionally. However, we frequently overlook something, though.

We can see things through images that we might not have observed with our own eyes.

Photography allows everyone to communicate, document, and raise awareness of various aspects of life. A good example is the PAWtoshoot that Mark Kelvin Aliliran, a professional photographer and videographer, conducted at the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and in other places he visits.

Now, who is Mark Kelvin as a Photographer?

Kelvin, known as Kelvinmarkulit on social media, shares his passion for photography by taking pictures of random people he comes across every day and posting them on his Tiktok and Facebook Accounts.

but apart from getting to know new individuals and sharing their fascinating experiences, this photographer also decided to delve into the world of stray animals by being their pawsonal pawtographer.

Kelvin’s Pawssion for Pawtography

Kelvin takes candid pictures of the cats and dogs he encounters on the streets and in other places in the hopes that they will one day find their FURever home. He shares his anguish at witnessing stray animals at their most vulnerable, and he urges everyone to lend a hand however we can through Pawtography. Kelvin gained attention when he took shots of community pets while wandering around areas like BGC. Additionally, he visited the PAWS Animal Shelter and created videos and a post to spread the word about the rescued animals there.

PAWssion Project Art Exhibit

You could see in one of Kelvin’s recent video posts on Facebook that he participated in the Pawssion Project’s Art Exhibit for a cause. It was an event held at the BGC Amphitheater.

The exhibit highlights Aaron Gekoski’s works. Hence, Kelvin quoted Gekoski’s statement, ” Unfortunately, we live in a world where not everyone views animals the same way that we do.”

Dog meat trade in Cambodia, Enormous concrete baths, and slaughterhouses are among Aaron Gekoski’s works. If not because of his photos, we may not be aware of the current situation those dogs are in. It is indeed true that photography enables us to see things that we may not have observed.

Dogs [and other strays] do speak, but only to those who know how to listen”.

This might be the reason why Kelvin decided to use his voice on behalf of all the voiceless animals. Mark Kelvin is one of the people who seek to bring changes in the lives of all strays.

“Saving one dog won’t change the world, but for that dog, the world will undoubtedly change forever”.

Photos evoke emotions and convey a variety of narratives. It allows us to communicate even without words being said. Through the images that Kelvin captured, and through the lenses of other photographers, we can hear and see animals’ call for help. The only question that we have is “Are you brave enough to fight for their rights and be the voice of the voiceless animals?”
