Les Misérables

It is based on Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel of the same name. The follows ex-convict Jean Valjean as he attempts to establish a new life in 19th-century France. The musical began in Paris in 1980. It has since become one of the world’s longest-running musicals, with productions in numerous countries and languages. The musical is also known for its powerful story, love, sacrifice, and social justice themes. The movie is available on Apple TV, YouTube Movies, and Google Play Movies.

The Sound of Music

It is a story of a young nun who becomes the head or the one who manages the von Trapp family and eventually marries a father. It was set in Austria in the late 1930s. The musical was based on the 1959 book “The Story of the Trapp Family Singers” by Maria von Trapp.

Evan Hansen is one of the award-winning go-to broadway musicals if you want to be back in high school season. It is a story about a boy who finds himself lost in the middle of misunderstanding the concept of friendship with his best friend, who died. Hamilton

The musical is famous for its hip-hop and R&B, but still, traditional show tunes tell a story about America’s founding father, Alexander Hamilton. Lin-Manuel Miranda created the musical after impulsively reading the book of Ron Chernow’s biography of Hamilton. The famous broadway musical is available at Disney+.
