5 NIKI Songs to Listen to Before Going on Her Sold-Out Concert in Manila

Niki’s definitely not lowkey! She will be making her way back to Manila to hold her already sold-out Nicole World Tour. It will be held on September 13, 2023, at the Mall of Asia Arena. And ahead of her much-anticipated Manila concert,

Here are five songs to play before going on her solo debut concert:

Every Summertime

Every Summertime is her viral feel-good single that contributed to the MCU film, Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings. According to NIKI herself, she wrote it in less than an hour! She also revealed that it’s one of her favorite songs of her career. Every Summertime would make you feel the warmth of summer, as it follows how the connection between two people brightens just like summer.

High School in Jakarta

Aside from reminiscing about high school memories, this song is also about NIKI’s first love in high school and how it ended. Niki also said in an interview, “It’s where younger me and current me meet and hang and have a fucking blast together.” This song is something that you would jump yourself into during her concert.

Backburner

Backburner is my national anthem right now. Backburner refers to keeping someone on the table but not necessarily being committed to them. It is for those who prioritize someone who never reciprocates their energy. Backburner could be the song that you would sing at the top of your lungs while crying.

Keeping Tabs

Keeping Tabs, as what the title suggests, is about clinging to a past relationship and in denial that you’re still not over with them. It’s an energetic track although it also talks about disappointments. “You are the worst thing that I’m still keeping tabs on for some stupid reason”.

The Apartment We Won’t Share

I wish I could listen to this song again for the first time. “Apartment We Won’t Share” is a bittersweet song that revisits the shattered dreams that a couple created while they were still together—something that many can relate to. Although it talks about breaking up, the lyrics show a hint of acceptance.

The thrill of experiencing live music from NIKI who moved and inspired us will be unmatched. One may feel a sense of connection with her and the music that resonates with our own personal experiences and emotions. The ability to witness the energy of a crowd united by the same passion for music will be unparalleled.
