Need a change of scenery? Bermuda offers Visa to Work from an Island
This pandemic has probably allowed us to leap from one feeling to another and at this point, we’re guessing that the most present one is boredom. It has been what, almost six months? And we’re right where we actually began, still at home. If you’re dying for a change of scenery, we’ve got great news for you. Recently, Bermuda is offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance of being able to stay on its island for a year to either work or study remotely.
View for days
Bermuda boasts of its picturesque landscapes and is famous for their great beaches. Who wouldn’t be motivated to get things done with that view?
Process is pretty easy and affordable as applicants aged 18 above only need to have a One Year Residential Certificate (OYRC) which can cost $263 (approximately P13,000), a valid health insurance, and a clean record from any crime.
Bermuda’s minister of labor Jason Hayward recognizes that working remotely has been a growing trend nowadays. He describes it as “something the Bermuda Government has been examining as part of its technology-focused economic diversification strategy.”
In addition, this gesture is their way of recovering from the tourism industry’s losses and boost their economy. They are now also extending visitors’ stay in the country for a maximum of 180 days instead of 90.
