Inka Magnaye is an inspiration to me and here’s why:
I apologize in advance but I don’t usually scroll on TikTok every day. It’s not that I don’t enjoy it but if I did open it, I’d spend hourssss on it. But, when I do, it’s to see my favorite Filipino creators on the platform. Of course, these include the following creators. My favorite bisexual fairy princess AJ Clementine who underwent male-to-female gender reassignment surgery. Then, there’s Chris Olsen who is 1/2 of my ultimate sana all couple with his beau Ian Paget. The funniest and most relatable person I’ve seen on TikTok – Nana Silayro. Then, there’s Ayn Bernos, my Miss Universe 2021 bet who’s probably the smartest person I’ve seen there. But, this list is not complete without voice actor Inka Magnaye who has become a huge inspiration to me.
Inka Magnaye is an inspiration to me and here’s why:
Being one of the few content creators that fight against colorism
When I was younger, I hated how dark I looked. I hated my brown skin. I hated every eighth or ninth of January because I knew the Black Nazarene would be on every newspaper or news story. And, because of my long wavy hair, I knew my classmates would tease me about it. I would cry about it many times, just like Inka Magnaye did, as told in this Instagram post:
Being an advocate for mental health.
She has transparency with her followers – especially during “bad days.” Inka Magnaye advocates for mental health and admits,
“It’s hard to get the momentum going, but that’s always the hardest part. Push past it, and you’re in 🔥”
Being in a male-dominated industry, she has to constantly prove herself worthy of the job that she has.
As a woman in a male-dominated industry, I also struggle with having my opinions heard. And, I can totally relate to this TikTok video she shared.

Being an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and fighting for feminism
As a bisexual myself, I support people from the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. To see someone as influential as her, be as open in supporting, advocating, and fighting for people like me, she has truly become an inspiration to me.
How about you? Which content creator has become an inspiration to you?
Angela Grace P. Baltan has been writing professionally since 2017. She doesn’t hesitate to be opinionated in analyzing movies and television series. Aside from that, she has an affinity for writing anything under the sun. As a writer, she uses her articles to advocate for feminism, gender equality, the LGBTQIA+ community, and mental health among others.
