Wildlife appreciation and conservation

Inside Davao Crocodile Park & Zoo are 61 animals. From animals that slither, crawl, or fly, to others that walk on four hooves, swim, and swing, the zoo takes care of most endemic and endangered creatures in Mindanao. They are well taken care of with some of them trained for their informational shows.
About 90% of the animals under their care are rescues. Almost every one of them has a unique background that led them there with reasons as to why they could not go back to the wild.
My favorite story that the tour guide and zookeeper narrated was that of the sole orangutan they had kept in an enclosure. For me, it was a sad yet hopeful tale starting from his rescue to his future within the zoo.
