The Yellow Wallpaper in the 21st Century

In accordance with the short story Yellow Wallpaper, I created a visual image of the narrative. The primary theme of the story is domestic abuse. It is depicted in the narrative of a woman gaining opportunities after being hindered by a controlling man.

The Plot

The visualization is incorporated with an understanding of the narrative. Clearly depicting a caged woman while having the yellow wallpaper smeared with blood. Furthermore, imagery is conveyed towards the hopeful eyes as it attempts to connect with the viewers.

Also, the connection between the depiction of multiple plot elements interacts with the imagination of readers. To see the actual setting through words are important to direct perspectives toward the character. Furthermore, the engagement of individual experience can deploy much coherent narrative and realizations.

Depiction of Women

The story’s illustration is purposefully one-sided in terms of depicting patriarchal society’s effect on women. After reading the short story, you will realize that the image is important. It merely conveys the part of a narrative as to why women in abusive relationships are always victimized. When they can also be depicted as saviors of their own stories. They should be respected for their own individuality and independence that they are powerful to create their own choices in their discernment.

The Art and The Artist

The primary art element that I have tried to utilize is color because the story’s narrative is prompted with a happy hue, I have to work around the motif and incorporate it with a dark centerpiece. After that, the elements became coherent with space and shapes involved the actual piece of the short story’s implications and illustrated the general idea of the story.

Lastly, the general narrative speaks to the readers. Communicating that women should not always be seen as mere victims of men, but rather, be respected for their own capabilities. Own abilities to construct decisions for their own lives.
