Michelle Madrigal details the meaning behind her old and new tattoos
How would you define a tattoo? Perhaps, your definition differs from mine as every individual has something to say about it. From a traditional point of view, it symbolizes being brave enough or as a status of being a warrior. I remember when I was in high school, my mother always tells me and my younger brother to not get a tattoo. Unless if we want to be kicked out of the house. However, my father who has a tattoo on his right arm doesn’t care if we want to have it or not, as long as it doesn’t harm us.
Tattoos as an art
You see, people differ no matter what you want or what you have. In today’s generation, people accept tattoos as art that represents something. Well, luckily, this generation finally brings the truth about getting a tattoo. Having a tattoo does not connote being a drug addict, a gangster, or a criminal.
A tattoo remains a permanent body art that needs to puncture the skin using a needle and injecting ink, dyes, and pigments into the deep layer of the skin. Young adults proudly present their tattoos and the meaning behind them. Michelle Madrigal-Woolfolk is one proud mom to share her old and new tattoos. In her recent vlog post on her YouTube channel, Michelle also shares the meaning behind her tattoos.

Lotus Flower
She shared that it’s a cover-up from her previous tattoo that she described as an M with angel wings. She, then, explained that she wants something that resonates with her. The Lotus flower came up to mind since it means “to rise from darkness.” She shared that the lotus flower represents her struggles in life and how she rose again. Lotus flower emerges in dark and muddy water but when it blooms it has pure and beautiful.
Unalome sign
Her second tattoo pertains to her life. She shared that the curve means there is no such thing as a straight path. That life has its struggles and for you to become a better person you should experience its curves. Finding enlightenment, social awakening, and embracing your struggles are important. It allows you to learn, expand, and become a better version of yourself.
” If you don’t have struggles in life, you’re just complacent”
Rose tattoo
She shared that it represents her at the time that she still struggles with her mindset and growth. She explains that despite being beautiful, glamorous, and pleasing she is like a rose that has thorns. The thorns represent her flaws and acknowledged her as a person.
La vie, est belle,
Translates as “Life is beautiful”, she believes that life is so beautiful and if you don’t find it beautiful you have to change within yourself, within your surroundings.
“Life is truly beautiful even if you say that you’re going through some rough stuff. It’s not going to last.”
She also shared that you need to find joy in your daily life. Some activities that she thankfully does is to be able to work out, travel, and connect to other people. As it makes you live and experience life. She also added that she learns French but wasn’t able to use it since she doesn’t have anyone to talk to in the French language.
Bible verse
Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
This tattoo reminds her of her instinct that if God tells her she follows it. She explains that when you’re happy inside out, everything falls into its place. Michelle also added that you need to set boundaries for yourself and to know what makes you happy.
Free spirit
For her, it symbolizes Live, Wild, and Free. She also explains that as a child her dream is to be a celebrity to make it a true dream she manifested it and acted on it. She also added that she doesn’t want to regret anything.
“I didn’t want a mediocre life.”
Anika
Her second latest tattoo is her daughter’s name which reminds her of the purpose of life. That reminds her of her point of view as a mother.
Queen of the wild
Her last latest tattoo represents a wolf which she describes as her spirit animal. Since wolves are very instinctive as they follow their intuition and want raw and real connection. She describes it as her following her gut in life. She added that following her intuition gives a bigger purpose in life. The tattoo represents who is she as well as her spirit animal.
