Growing up along with Paramore

Growing up along with Paramore shaped how I listen and appreciate music and arts. And to this day I admire Hayley Williams not only for their music but for her character.

Growing up along with Paramore

Paramore music

The American rock band formed in 2004 in Franklin, Tennessee. Paramore gained significant popularity in the mid-2000s with their blend of pop punk and alternative rock sound. The original members of Paramore were Hayley Williams (lead vocalist), Josh Farro (lead guitarist), Zac Farro (drummer), Jeremy Davis (bassist), and Taylor York (rhythm guitarist).

Paramore released their debut album, “All We Know Is Falling,” in 2005, followed by their breakthrough album, “Riot!,” in 2007, which featured hits like “Misery Business” and “Crushcrushcrush.” The band continued to evolve their sound with subsequent albums, incorporating elements of pop, new wave, and synth-pop.

Over the years, Paramore went through lineup changes, with Josh Farro and Zac Farro departing the band in 2010 but later rejoining in 2016. They have released several successful albums, including “Brand New Eyes” (2009), “Paramore” (2013), and “After Laughter” (2017).

Paramore’s music often explores themes of youth, relationships, empowerment, and personal struggles. Hayley Williams’ powerful vocals and their energetic live performances gave them positive feedback. Some of their other popular songs include “Ain’t It Fun,” “Still Into You,” and “The Only Exception.”

The influence and impact of their music

Hearing “Misery Business” in 2008 changed my music preference. From late elementary to high school, Paramore are always part of my playlist.

With their heavy beats, moving baseline and impressive guitar solos, paired with the versatile voice of Hayley Williams, it’s no surprise they’re famous. Although in my first listen of the artists, most of their lyrics flew right past my head, getting to look back I highly appreciate and resonate with them and their works.

Paramore first rocked the airwaves with their breakthrough album “riot.” Their debut caused such an impact not just for the music industry but for women in the music industry. Female lead bands were scarce during the time and most female artist were associated to being divas or popstars.

Due to Paramore’s success a lot of girls dreamed of being rockstars.

Hayley Williams being an icon

As they rose to fame, Hayley as much as she became an icon also became a public figure open for scrutiny. Along with that, the responsibility of being a positive influence for everyone especially young girls are a heavy burden to bear.

Not only that but the band also faced internal dispute as each grew up finding their own interests and passion which ultimately affected the band. Some left and managed on their while some stayed. The band and the fans have been to quite the rollercoaster for the past few decades.

Despite all these adversities, Hayley along with the other members stuck to their truth and story incorporating it to their music. Taking a courage step in being vulnerable in front millions of people and sharing their story empowering all artist to carry on.
