Exploring the hidden wonder of Jovellar

How to get there from Manila

If you plan to commute, you can either take the bus or plane going to Ligao Albay. From there, you will ride a jeep going to Guinobatan. Usually, it will take you for just about less than 30 minutes to arrive there. Then from Guinobatan you still need to ride a jeep going to Jovellar for about an hour or so. Once you arrive in Brgy. Quitinday, Jovellar, you can rent a tricycle or habal-habal (motorcycle) to reach the registration office.

If you will bring a car, you will have to follow the same route going to Jovellar. The only difference is that the travel time can be shortened and you can go directly to the registration office. You just need to be ready for the designated parking fees.

Things to remember before going to Jovellar Underground River Cave

Upon registration, you need to pay their respective fees such as Entrance fees, Bamboo raft fees, Dry caving fees, and Tour guide fees. You can also rent a cottage so you have a place for your belongings. You can check out the photo below for the exact rate of each fee.

After you have settled everything in the registration area, you can enjoy the place as you go for a more or less 5-minute walk to the Jovellar Underground River Cave.

You will be welcomed by its beauty where you can see the majestic underground river cave. As you ride through the bamboo raft you will see various rock formations, patterns, stalagmites, and stalactites inside the cave. It’s quite a thrilling and awe-inspiring experience since the cave measures approximately 150 meters long.

At the end of the cave, you can enjoy swimming in the designated area. Meanwhile, you can do cliff jumping if you are an adrenaline junkie! They also have waterfalls that you can explore while you’re in the area.
