Every year it starts at 6 PM and ends at 9 PM. The light show itself lasts for less than an hour and is repeated every hour until 9 PM, giving visitors more time to enjoy it, and take pictures and videos.

The 3D mapping light show became part of the festivities in 2018. Repeated every day during the whole duration of the festival. It is a special light show, similar to an introduction, to the Kadayawan Festival.

It is special every year since 2018 it creatively makes use of the City Hall as a stage for the lights to dance around to the music. No two years have the same light show and music although the opening seems to be the same every time.

The last Kadayawan 3D Mapping I went to was in 2019. Back then, the light show had an ethnic feel to it with the music and the visuals.

Compared to then, this year felt more like a rave with its use of laser and flashing lights. The music had no lyrics and the lights are just purely dancing to the beats and tune of an invisible DJ. What I like about this year’s light show is the clever inclusion of optical illusions, making it seem like the building is falling apart at one point.

If this gets you excited, look forward to the Kadayawan 3D Mapping next year at the same location! It will be even better for sure!
