The dos and don’ts of every skincare routines

Skincare is life! Taking care of your skin should be your first priority.Ā Who wouldn’t want to have healthy, glowing skin? Skincare is a matter of personal preference. However, there are a dizzying number of opinions on everything from how to moisturize to the best way to cleanse, the proper way to use sunscreen, and other routines. However, did you know that your daily habits have a significant impact on your skin?

The dos and don’ts of every skincare routine

THE DOS OF SKINCARE

Wear sunscreen regularly.

According to experts, applying sunscreen is the most important step in any skincare routine! It is the best and simplest way to protect the appearance and health of your skin at any age. It can help prevent skin cancer, sunburn, and premature aging. Hence, it is important to invest in good sunscreen. Make sure that it is giving you the right protection for your skin. Grab sunscreen with an SPF of 50. It protects you from about 98% of UVB rays. Never skip your sunscreen, and apply it regularly.

Give your body some love.

Donā€™t just focus on your face. You should also look at your body. Pour the same love you put on your face into your body. Take care of them as you take care of your face. Itā€™s not just about the face, we should take care of our bodies too. Eat greens and be healthy. Remember, skin care isnā€™t limited to your face.Ā

Remove makeup before bed.

This is ultimately a must. Sleeping with makeup on can cause eye irritation, itchiness, and infection. In the worst-case scenario, leaving mascara on overnight can result in eyelid cysts. It can cause redness and inflammation, too. Therefore, you should avoid leaving your makeup on overnight. Make sure to remove it before you sleep.

Stay hydrated.

Did you know that water reduces wrinkles? Water keeps your body hydrated and refreshed and helps maintain your skin’s elasticity. People who drink large amounts of water are less likely to suffer from scars, wrinkles, and soft lines and they won’t show as many signs of aging as those who drink little amounts of water.

Getting more than eight hours of sleep.

Sleep not only guarantees a healthy body but also provides us with good skin. There is no other remedy to look glowing but to complete hours of sleep.Ā Without good sleep, the skincare routine will be in vain.

THE DON’TS OF SKINCARE

Forget to moisturize daily.

Know the proper skincare routine. Donā€™t forget to moisturize daily. It reduces the chances of skin problems. When our skin is too dry or too oily, there is a higher chance that acne will start to pop up. As a result, it is a must that we donā€™t skip moisturizers as it helps maintain the balance of our skin.

Over-exfoliate.

Excessive exfoliation can result in flaky, dry, patchy, and rough skin. This typically means your skin’s ability to absorb or retain moisture has been compromised by over-exfoliation. When this happens, your beauty routine will be severely affected. Hence, it is important to be gentle on our skin. Donā€™t over-exfoliate.

Pick and prod pimples.

Wait! Let me stop you right there. Hands off! Make sure not to pop that little pimple. Popping acne can cause infection. Picking a pimple will only make it worse and more visible. It is best to leave pimples alone as this speeds up their natural healing process. Ā So, donā€™t pop your pimples, and just let them be.

Now, these are just some of the dos and donā€™ts of skincare. Our skin is the largest organ of our body. They say it is an excellent indicator of our general health. So having healthy skin means having a healthy life.
