Songs to help battle anxieties and serve as pick-me-ups

Songs

This quarantine have been on for too long and since, we it has took us on a ride of emotions. Whether or not you are staying at home with family, friends, or is dealing with it alone, no circumstances can save us from the crippling anxieties this pandemic can bring.

Best believe you are not the only one in this battle. We too, have been feeling too much. This is why we want to share what cheers most of us in this trying time with you, in hopes that it will bind us together and keep us afloat, no matter how hard.

Music plays a vital role in our day-to-day lives, with or without this lockdown, we turn to it with every mood we’ve got.

In this special article, we’d like to relate with you our readers, and offer you a musical treat, if it helps.

We’ve listed five songs below that have so far saved us when anxieties come knocking the door.

1. Light On – Maggie Rogers

Maggie Rogers is such a gem for us, especially whenever we just want to sit back and feel bittersweet. In this song, she show us a love that stays even in the hardest times, therefore keeping the “light on.”

It’s so comforting to be aware of those who keep us and we like to keep. People and our connections with them, more than anything, are important when the darkness comes.

“Would you hear me out, if I told you I was terrified for days? Thought I was gonna break”

2. Breathin’ – Ariana Grande

Nope, Ariana Grande does not just produce bops in the pop genre. She also speaks to her fans in another level through her songs of vulnerability. In her 2019 album sweetener, she put in a reminder for her listeners to “just keep breathin'” when things take way too much of your energy.

This is a perfect message for us now, to keep pushing through and look forward to better days. Yes, it’s scary and frustrating, what with the faulty system we’re in, but at the end of the day we have to keep breathing not just for the sake of us but of our loved ones who rely on our strength as well.

“Sometimes it’s hard to find my way up into the clouds, tune it out, they can be so loud”

3. The Stars – Lady Antebellum

This one outright tells us that we are right, “life is a beautiful messed up mystery.” It’s ever-changing! At one moment, we feel that we are at our peak, then the next we feel so down that nothing can pick us up.

Well, Lady Antebellum is here to say that even the stars ain’t got nothing on you when you find your light and shine. Do not lose the fire.

“If you ever feel lost and broken inside, just remember the way you helped me shine”

4. Tomorrow – Avril Lavigne

Old but gold, as we’d like to describe this song. Avril takes us on a in a feels trip as she reminds us that the sun will rise again and will give us a new set of chances to make things right.

Sometimes, we recognize the feeling of hopelessness, and just can’t take others saying that it’ll “get better.” However, it’s true that there is still a tomorrow!

“I don’t know what to say, tomorrow is a different day”

5. Rain On Me – Lady Gaga feat. Ariana Grande

NOW THIS JUST IN. Since these icons released this bop yesterday, we just can’t seem to get enough of it. There are days we just want to dance our feelings away, and this is the perfect song to shake those negativity with!

Who said an upbeat track can’t save you from the darkness? Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande will prove you otherwise!

“I’d rather be dry, but at least I’m alive”

Come on, feel free to sing it with us! We know you wanna!
