La Diva was formed in the now-defunct musical variety-show of GMA SOP in 2008. The group is composed of two winners and a runner-up of Pinoy Pop Superstar.
In 2013, Jona left the group to focus on herself as a solo artist while Aicelle and Maricris continued as duo under the same name La Diva. Despite Jona’s departure, the duo managed to guest in some GMA Network shows. However, the group officially disbanded in 2015.
As of now, Aicelle and Maricris are still under GMA Network as solo artists while Jona signed a contract in Star Music. In fact, Star Music gave her the stage name ‘Jona’ as a solo artist and singer.
