Jasmin Salberg of Germany wins Miss International 2022
The beautiful Jasmin Salberg of Gemarny is Miss International 2022. The 22-year-old from Dusseldorf becomes the third woman from her country to win the title. She succeeds the outgoing titleholder, Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand.
After its series of postponements due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Miss International 2022 was finally able to push through. Marking its 60th edition, the pageant takes place at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Jasmin bested out 65 other candidates for the Long Beach Pearl crown. The runner-ups include the candidates from Cabo Verde, Peru, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic.
Last win was in 1989 through Iris Klein. Germany had to wait at least 33 years for their third crown. Their first Miss International titleholder was in 1965 with Ingrid Finger.
A pageant veteran, Jasmin has competed in many international pageants. This includes Miss Globe 2021 and Miss Supranational 2022.
Meanwhile, Philippines bet Hannah Arnold settles for a Top 15 finish. A commendable feat, nonetheless, Hannah manages to penetrate the semifinals, becoming the only Asian country to do so this year.
A favorite to win the crown, her early exit from the pageant just proves how unpredictable Miss International is. Hannah was eyeing to capture our country’s seventh Miss International crown.
Congratulations to Jasmine, the new Miss International. We’re looking forward to your reign ahead. Congratulations also to the candidates! You all did an amazing job.
But most importantly, thank you, Hannah for representing our country well!
