#HealthTips: Invest in Your Dental Care

Many people feel intimidated or scared about going to the dentist. It may be because of the thought of many that all teeth procedures hurt or maybe because of the sounds in the clinic and the array of tools that the dentist use for procedures.

Aside from taking care of our teeth by brushing, there are sorts of procedures to maintain healthy teeth.

Thus, there are reasons to go to the dentist. Just know what you’re in for or visit for a teeth checkup.

Here are some of the common procedures that you might be needed that are within the budget.

Teeth cleaning

You might be worried about your yellow teeth because it has a poor reputation. But, yellow is better!

However, if you’re already seeing a hard buildup of plaque forming in your teeth or tartar, you already need teeth cleaning.

Brushing your teeth will not remove these tartars. Hence, the only way to remove it is to go to a dentist. Many dentists recommend teeth cleaning every six months or every year for healthy teeth.

Tooth Extraction

Many people, especially kids, are scared to go to a dentist because they thought that extraction is the only procedure that dentists are offering.

However, admittedly, this one sounds scary and painful. But if you’re tooth is so damaged by the cavity you might be needing this procedure to prevent infections of other teeth.

Let’s just know that our dentists will do everything in their capacity to help us feel comfortable during the procedure.

Tooth Fillings

This procedure is what we know as the pasta procedure. Luckily, if your tooth is just damaged by little, you won’t be intimidated by the extraction procedure because tooth filling is the best procedure for you!

This one is not painful and for me, based on my own experience, this one is the most fulfilling teeth procedure because it will make your tooth a brand new one.

Dental Crowns

If your cavity is a little too big tooth filling, and a little small for extraction, a dental crown is the solution.

This procedure is a dental prosthesis that replaced the visible part of a tooth. It strengthens teeth, restores their original shape, and also improves their appearance. Sometimes, it is also used to fill the gap to hold it and for your teeth to look complete.

Just like fillings, this procedure is not painful.

Dental Bonding

Unhappy with your smile because of a chipped tooth? Dental bonding is the answer!

This procedure is used to repair chipped, decayed, and cracked teeth. It involves applying a tooth-colored resin material—a sort of plastic—to the teeth not just to improve our smile, but to make it more natural.

It is also an easy procedure and not so painful. But it can take a while to finish.

I think a lot of people would agree that our smile is part of our personality. That’s why taking good care of our teeth is important.

Now that wearing a face mask in the Philippines is slowly becoming optional, let’s face the world with our beautiful smiles!
