4th VP Choice Awards: SB19 enters Hall of Fame, reigns music category
This year on VP Choice Awards, P-Pop kings SB19 dominated the music category and officially entered the Hall of Fame.
VP Choice Awards acknowledges the reigning finest from the travel, lifestyle, entertainment, technology, and business industries. The 2022 installment welcomes the theme Supernova: Our Brilliant Burst of Light. It signifies embracing our burgeoning blast after an era of compromise. It also signals the return of the much-anticipated red carpet and awards night.
Meanwhile, nominees for the 4th VP Choice Awards are examined based on these criteria: fifty percent comes from online voting, thirty percent from the editorial team’s decision, and twenty percent from the expert panel.
Furthermore, the board of judges comprised showbiz-lifestyle YouTuber Albert Bryan Abelido, orthodontics expert Dr. John Alex Glenn Crespo, and seasoned blogger Justine Montas. Likewise, actress-entrepreneur Kyra Custodio, celebrity hairstylist Mark Rosales, market researcher Martin Penaflor, and gadget coach Peter Jan Icago joined the panel.
Thus, the combined decision of the public and deliberation of the judges led to determining the conquerors of almost 100 accolades presented for the 4th VP Choice Awards.
SB19 enters the Hall of Fame
A P-Pop idol supergroup, SB19 composes of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin. Along with their strong fandom called A’TIN, the duad has a surging relevance in the industry.
Looking back, SB19 penetrated VP Choice Awards in 2019. The quintet became one of the contenders and, soon, the winner of the Group Performer of the Year. They celebrated the achievement by gracing the pioneer VPCA live ceremony to accept their prize.
Following their first victory, SB19 was nominated for two more years in the same recognition and won. Their three consecutive triumphs in the accolade marked a grand slam. Alike, A’TIN followed the trail for securing the Fandom of the Year award thrice in a row.
Hence, SB19 received its Hall of Fame trophies, another first time in the history of the VP Choice Awards. It serves as a token of their entrance into the elite circle.
SB19 reigns VPCA 2022 music category
Besides their past wins, SB19 also dominated the 4th VP Choice Awards. Overall, the Billboard Top Social Artist 2021 contender gained three of the most coveted nominations under the music category.
In particular, the group leader Pablo, or John Paulo Nase, obtained the nomination for Composer of the Year. He wrote the dance electro-pop track Where You At (WYAT), which tackles reconnecting with people and reminiscing good things in the past.
Other artists who vied for the honor include Moira dela Torre, Miguel and Paolo Benjamin of Ben&Ben, Jin Chan, and Arthur Miguel.
Additionally, WYAT earned two separate nods for P-Pop Song of The Year and Music Video of the Year. The single came out in September last year, with its official MV garnering nearly four million views as of writing.
Following an intense voting period that took place over a month of duration, SB19 surpassed other entries and clinched all the titles.
Congratulations, A’TIN and Mahalima!
