MCU Quotes that Just Hit Home
Three years after Avengers: Endgame, we are now under the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Though MCU’s ways of sustaining its reputation from the previous phases are very evident, we all know that nothing can replace the OGs.
Reminisce with me as I list down a few MCU quotes that just hit home when we first heard them on the big screen!
“He may have been your father, boy. But he wasn’t your daddy.”
– Yondu, Guardians of the Galaxy
To all my people out there who have da*dy issues, this one is for us! Yondu, despite his parenting ways, still made us fall in love with his and Quill’s chemistry.
So just when we thought everything would be alright towards the end of this movie, MCU deceived us… once again. And guess what? We still loved it!
“In times of crisis, the wise build bridges while the foolish build barriers.”
– T’Challa, Black Panther
The character T’Challa inspired a lot of POC when MCU featured the culture and identity that are associated with the African-American communities worldwide. This particular quote echoes the importance of unity in times of crisis.
Also, this one just hits differently since Chadwick Boseman, the actor who played T’Challa, died during the pandemic.
“The hardest choices require the strongest wills.”
– Thanos, Avengers: Infinity War
Well, we have to give it to Thanos on this one.
But don’t get me wrong, though he has a point, I am not a Thanos apologist. The ends will never justify the means!
“Whatever it takes.”
– Captain America, Avengers: Endgame
This particular quote just brings us back to those good ol’ days. Every time I hear Cap utters these words, I am reminded of all the feelings that I had at the end of the first Avenger movie.
Oh, we had no idea that it would be such an unpredictable ride from then on.
“I love you 3000.” – Morgan Stark, Avengers: Endgame
You are lying if you say your heart did not melt when you heard Morgan say this to Tony. I think it is safe to say that, even after all this time, we are still mourning the death of the one and only Tony Stark: the heart of the Avengers.
“What is grief, if not love persevering?”
– Vision, Avengers: Age of Ultron
This one may not be from the latest phases of the MCU but, sis, it still… hurts. Especially since when you think about it, it is not just applicable to Vision and Wanda, it is also a quote for those characters who we lost in Endgame.
“You, Vision, are the piece of the mind stone that lives in me. You are a body of wires, and blood, and bone that I created. You are my sadness and my hope. But mostly, you’re my love.”
– Wanda Maximoff, Wandavision
To be honest, as a Wanda stan, I have to admit that I am a little bit biased when I included this quote in the list. But come to think of it, this is the reason why Wanda is who she is in phase four of MCU.
Also, the lines in this one are just superb!
As usual, whenever we encounter anything Marvel-related, we just always find ourselves left amazed. So this I say 10! 10! 10! 10s across the board!
Aside from being a self-proclaimed caffeine-dependent person, Franchesca believes that she is a writer too. Because of her desire to escape mundanity, most of her time is spent in her bed watching TV series or her nose in a book. Additionally, she can be found wandering the streets, museums, and theaters of Manila. When asked about her philosophy in life, she will answer, “God is a woman, and my lola is the proof!”
