After a two-year hiatus, Ed Sheeran finally releases new single Bad Habits
Every time Ed Sheeran comes around with a new song, we DEFINITELY can’t say no!
Coming back from his two-year hiatus, Ed Sheeran released his newest single Bad Habits last June 25
This clubby, groovy tune will be our national anthem once again as Ed marks this song as his return to music.
“Feels great to be back with my new single…I wanted the video for ‘Bad Habits’ to play on the nature of habits in a fantastic way, so I decided on vampires. It was mega fun getting into character except for the heights (that wasn’t so fun). Enjoy x”
Ed co-wrote and co-produced Bad Habits with Johnny McDaid and FRED (No.6 Collaborations Project). Dave Meyers directed the music video, featuring Ed as a vampire in a pink-clad suit. It’s a captivating take on how most of our bad habits turn us into a monster- but in Ed’s case, an adorable one!
Ed Sheeran shows us a newer side in the Bad Habits music video.
From taking a break from music to focus on parenting, Ed has shown us his true loving self from the revelation of his priorities in life. Now that he’s up and running with music again, he’s ready to take on the industry bolder and wiser!
In the music video, former Ed Sheeran in a black shirt catapulted from a car crash into the “new” Ed Sheeran. The new Ed Sheeran catches him, but he deflates into pink-Ed’s arms. Is this a symbolism of Ed moving on from his past version and letting us know to expect a different side of him?
Either way, vampire or not, he’s still the same kind-hearted Ed we all know and love as we see him handing out a smiley-faced balloon to a little vampire girl.
Change is a part of life, and we’re happy that Ed decided to include us in that transformation by going back to music!
Furthermore, we can catch Ed as he starts his one-week residency with the Late Late Show with James Corden TODAY, June 28! He’s also set for an upcoming release of the track he collaborated with BTS. It is indeed a fantastic week for Sheerios.
Let our listening habits always lead to Ed Sheeran and his music.
