4 Mobile Apps That Helped Me This 2022

As much as I attempt to reduce my screen time, my phone became my best friend in 2022. I never leave without it – sometimes not even when I go to the bathroom! And, of course, what’s a phone without helpful mobile apps that help you get by in your daily life?

4 Mobile Apps That Helped Me This 2022

SPOTIFY

Really, how can people function without music? Music stimulates my brain in a way that nothing else can. Just as some people cannot start their day without a cup of coffee, I cannot work without music. This should explain my almost 100,000 listening time, according to my personal Spotify Wrapped. I have Spotify on my phone and my laptop and it’s playing songs almost the entire day.

Aside from playing my favorite songs on repeat and discovering new titles, it has lots of features that I enjoy: offline listening, checking your friends’ activities, and listening together. What else should we ask for?

I used to think that subscribing to play music is not worth it and believe it or not, ads did not bother me. That is until I subscribed to Spotify Premium because of an offer, and I’ve never looked back. I feel as if I’m advertising the app, but it really became a significant part of my 2022. In good and in bad times, music kept me company and Spotify turned out to be the best mobile app for that.

REDDIT

In this digital age, we consume our news everywhere, including social networking apps like Facebook, Twitter, and Tiktok. News agencies have flocked to these platforms because it is where a lot of users spend their time. One app that I found interesting and useful when it comes to content is Reddit. With many subreddits to choose from, you’ll never run out of things to read.

What I love about Reddit is that it has everything. Subreddits like r/Philippines have informative content about the country. Fandom communities provide entertainment. Question-and-answer forums such as r/AskReddit allow engagement with people online. Subreddits for hobbies such as photography, gardening, and art let you learn and share stories with people of the same interests.

Sometimes, Reddit feels like a newspaper. On other days, it feels like a magazine. One of its selling points is that you can filter what communities you want to join. In this way, you can tailor fit your feed to your needs and avoid triggering and stressful topics for you. These features definitely made Reddit one of my top mobile apps in 2022.

PINTEREST

If you need quick inspiration, just go to Pinterest, enter a keyword, and have fun scrolling through related photos. It caters to people who dabble in art and who find joy in aesthetics. When writer’s or artist’s block strikes, Pinterest serves as my go-to mobile app when I need to poke my creative juices. The interface feels easy enough to the eyes. By following topics of preference, you can curate your experience with the app.

You can also create albums called boards where you can add photos and art that will be the inspiration for your next project. When I used to write poetry, I go to Pinterest for prompts and found very specific aesthetics that I loved. Anything orange, celestial, and royalcore grew on me and the next thing I knew, I was producing art. I was doing something I enjoy willingly.

SAKAY.PH

When travel restrictions started to ease, commuting became one of the most challenging things to do. There is always the option of booking Transportation Network Vehicles like Grab, Angkas, or Joyride whenever we feel lost but where’s the fun in that? We still have to learn the ins and outs of the Metro and nearby Philippine provinces.

Sakay.ph claims that it gives “the best commute directions in Metro Manila”. Whenever I need to go to a new place, I check the app and it gives me multiple options on how to go to places. As an outgoing person who enjoys exploring places, this mobile app saved my life multiple times. It took away my fear of getting lost.

2022 has been a wild ride, for sure. With the convenience that smartphones offer, mobile apps make our life easier. Spotify, Reddit, Pinterest, and Sakay.ph aided me on my journey this year, what about you?
