Tracy Maureen Perez advances to Miss World’s top 40
Philippines’ bet Tracy Maureen Perez was named as one of the top 40 candidates of Miss World advancing to the coronation night this March 16, 2022.
Initially, the organization revealed the 15 “fast track winners” on their Facebook page.
Along with Tracy are the winners coming from the following countries:
- Botswana
- Cameroon
- Côte d’Ivoire
- England
- India
- Kenya
- Mexico
- Mongolia
- Nepal
- Nicaragua
- Paraguay
- South Africa
- United States
- Venezuela
Later on, the organization also named the 25 additional candidates who completed the list. The selected bets are the “judges’ choices.”
“Congratulations to our Top 40 who are invited to return to San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 12th to continue their quest to be crowned the 70th Miss World!“
Securing the Miss World berth
Earlier in December, Tracy secured a berth in the finals night having won the head-to-head battle. That same month, she also won Miss World’s Beauty with a Purpose challenge.
In fact, her project captured the hearts of numerous people, including the judges. She underlined her personal narrative of living with a single mother through a five-minute clip titled “Para kay Nanay: A Single Mother’s Journey to Love.”
Originally, Miss World the schedule for the coronation night was on December 17 in Puerto Rico. However, the organization decided to cancel the pageant due to health and safety concerns. In December, seventeen beauty pageant candidates and staff members allegedly tested positive for COVID-19.
