Network rivals GMA, ABS-CBN team up for project ‘Unbreak My Heart’

For the first time in the history of Philippine television, rival networks GMA Network and ABS-CBN Corporation collaborated to co-produce a romantic drama series, “Unbreak My Heart.”

According to a report by ABS-CBN News, “Unbreak My Heart” will be filmed in Switzerland and will premiere on GMA this year. It will be available for viewing via the streaming platform, Viu, in the Philippines and 15 other countries.

Headlining the project are the artists from both giant companies, Jodi Sta. Maria, Joshua Garcia, Gabbi Garcia, and Richard Yap

For “The Broken Marriage Vowstar Jodi, it will be her first time working with Joshua and Gabbi. However, her partnership with Richard once again will serve as their reunion as a former love team. Looking back, the two top-billed the 2012 hit drama, “Be Careful With My Heart.”

“This collaboration will really bring in opportunities not only to the networks but for the people working in the network, for the people in the industry,” Jodi stated.

“I’m really proud, honored, and excited to be part of this show, a history in the making. Of course, I’m also excited to be working with Jodi again and all the other cast,” Richard said.

Meanwhile, Joshua stressed he is grateful to take part in “Unbreak My Heart,” noting his excitement for his character. The same goes with Gabbi, who is challenged to play her role that has much “depth” and “growth” in it.

GMA and ABS-CBN sealed this partnership in a recent contract signing with their executives.
