Escaping the Metro: Let’s go to Sagada!

Sagada is a tiny yet peaceful town with rich indigenous culture. It is located in the Mountain Province of Cordillera Administrative Region in North Luzon. The place being in the mountain and is covered in mist and fog is what makes the place scenic.

Sagada is known for its picturesque view—its famous hanging coffins, rice fields, refreshing waterfalls, cliffs, caves, and no other than its mountain valleys where you would often witness the sea of clouds. Which is why if you are thinking of wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila, you might consider going to Sagada. The greeneries, its perfect landscapes, and its chilly weather will really satisfy all your senses.

Sagada’s climate is similar to Baguio. Whether it’s both dry or wet season, its chilly weather stays the same as it is located in the mountains. This is why agriculture is its main source of business.

According to the locals, the best time to go and discover Sagada is from March to May and from November to February. This is because the temperature can drop to as low as 4 degrees Celsius. That season is also the harvest season so you’re lucky enough to taste the fresh and tasty fruits of Sagada. But note that the crowds can get heavy during this time as it’s the peak season of Sagada for travelers.

But if you want to avoid the crowd, you can visit before the rainy season starts. This is from June to October. The climate will be much colder that the usual due to rain showers so it’s important as well to bring your raincoats, jackets, and umbrellas to keep you dry and warm.
So, what are you waiting for? Plan your trip ahead and enjoy Sagada!
