VP/Spotlight: Kayla Davies — Sparkle’s Young Star on the Rise
At 14 years old, Kayla Anne Davies carries a spark that’s beginning to glow brighter with every new project she takes on. Born in Zambales, raised between Filipino culture and her British heritage, Kayla is learning to move through the world with both curiosity and intention. And as she steps further into the entertainment industry, people are starting to ask a simple question: Who’s that girl?

The answer begins with her early beginnings—photoshoots for brands like Robinsons, McDonald’s, and Amaia Land—moments that introduced her to cameras and storytelling before she even entered high school. But her journey didn’t end with print ads. Those first projects opened a door she didn’t expect she’d walk through so confidently.
Today, Kayla Davies is a proud Sparkle GMA Artist: an actress, singer, model, and content creator ready to take on roles that excite her. And even at her age, she is already showing signs of an artist who understands not just her craft, but also herself.
Getting to Know Kayla
Kayla describes herself as a passionate and driven young artist. Moreover, she is thrilled to be part of GMA Sparkle, one of the biggest talent houses in the country.

She doesn’t force a label on herself. Instead, she embraces every creative avenue available. For her, each medium is simply another way to connect with people. What matters most is the story she’s telling, whether it’s through a dramatic scene or a short clip online.
This mix of talent and simplicity makes Kayla easy to root for. She is young, but she knows what she wants, and she’s not afraid to grow into it one step at a time.
Kayla was always drawn to people. Acting became the perfect space for her natural curiosity.
“I love the idea of stepping into someone else’s shoes and exploring a different life. It’s a way to understand human nature and emotions on a much deeper level. Initially, I was drawn to performance through digital content creation, which quickly evolved once I started formal training. The sheer creativity and collaborative energy of a set is what keeps me captivated.”

For Kayla, acting isn’t about performance alone. It’s about feeling. It’s about understanding why a character behaves a certain way and expressing emotions that audiences recognize as true.
Unlike many her age, Kayla takes a thoughtful and grounded approach to preparing for roles. She studies characters from the inside out. When she reads a script, she searches for motivations—What does she want? What has she been through? Why does she respond this way?
Her process starts with building a backstory.
She imagines everything that happened to the character before the first scene. She traces emotional wounds, experiences, fears, and goals. This deep preparation allows her to act from a genuine place, making even the smallest expressions feel honest.

It’s a technique many seasoned actors use, but Kayla has adopted it early, which hints at the kind of performer she may grow into.
The People Who Inspire Her
Every young artist needs role models, and for Kayla, one name stands out: Alden Richards.
She admires his versatility—acting, hosting, producing, directing—and the way he constantly evolves without losing his humility. His professionalism is something she hopes to mirror in her own career.
As a fellow Sparkle talent, Alden represents a path she hopes to follow: steady growth, a strong work ethic, and a grounded mindset. She looks up to artists who not only excel but also remain kind, aware, and committed to their craft.
Showbiz isn’t glamorous all the time. Kayla knows that. She admits that the hardest lesson so far has been patience. There are long waits in auditions, callbacks, filming schedules, release dates. But instead of letting the waiting frustrate her, she has learned to use that time well. She trains, studies, and reminds herself that every artist has their own timeline.

“For me the biggest challenge is patience. The industry requires a lot of waiting. Waiting for the right role, waiting for a project to air, waiting for your time. I’ve learnt that you have to use that waiting time productively, like continuing to train. it’s just part of the process. You have to stay resilient and believe in your own path.”
This understanding gives her resilience, something many discover much later in life.
Handling Pressure with Grace
Being an up-and-coming actress comes with expectations, but Kayla handles them by staying grounded. She focuses on work, not noise. On progress, not comparison.
Her support system keeps her steady: her parents Gary and Cherrie Pie, her sisters Ashley and Amber, her management, and her friends. They remind her that no matter how exciting her career becomes, she is still allowed to grow, make mistakes, and find her pace.
More than applause, Kayla Davies wants connection.
“I hope they take away a feeling of connection. Whether I’m making them laugh, cry, or think, I want them to feel like they truly understood that character and their situation. If someone watches my performance and feels a little less alone, or a little more understood, then I’ve done my job.”
Whether she makes viewers laugh, cry, or think, she hopes they walk away feeling understood. It’s a simple wish, but one that defines her heart as an artist.
What’s Next for Kayla
Kayla’s schedule is filling up fast. She is part of the highly anticipated GMA series House of Lies, directed by Jerry Sineneng, alongside a strong ensemble cast featuring Kris Bernal, Beauty Gonzalez, Mike Tan, and Martin del Rosario.

She also appears in Regal Studio Presents: Daughter of the Groom with Neil Ryan Sese, and has a religious film coming soon, directed by Ben Yalung.
And beyond the screen, you can always find her online, connecting with fans and sharing pieces of her life through social media.
So… Who’s That Girl? She’s Kayla Davies. An artist discovering her voice. A performer shaping her path. A girl with dreams she’s ready to grow into.
It’s only the start, but one thing is clear: you’ll be hearing her name a lot more. And when you do, you’ll remember exactly who that girl is.
